September 26, 20241 yr If you've ever travelled in Africa, Jo-burg is to southern Africa as Atlanta is to the southeast US--it's the central hub for the sub-saharan south continent. Want to fly from Lusaka to Nairobi? More than likely your itinerary will take you all the way south to FAOR and then back north to Nairobi. It's been a big missing link for a long time, with only a few pretty underwhelming attempts since as far back as the FS9 days. September 26, 20241 yr Looks great. I have Gaffer Sim version which as of now is by far the best FAOR rendition in MSFS history. My home base, so I should know. Hoping this will be even better. Also hoping they got the elevated embankment on the approach threshold of 03R correct. Gaffer did not quite nail that. Certainly looks good from the video and extends a little beyond the airport itself (Airways Park and Emperors Palace (casino and entertainment complex adjacent to the airport). Probably a buy for me. We just used to ignore it.

In fact, I think we even invented it.😒 6 hours ago, Peter Webber said: Yes, my home base at the moment. I use NMG scenery. MSFS has pretty much ignored the continent. Hopefully this will change. Regards. The Asobo FACT is fairly decent but I think you need the Premium Deluxe version of MSFS. Then if you have that, there is a freeware enhancement for Asobo's version on fs.to. I also have OrbX Cape Town landmarks enhancement, making Cape Town quite decent overall. As of 18:10 Bravo, iniBuilds has not released FAOR for sale yet. Wonder if they will delay it, heard they were having issues with AI people falling thru the floor in the terminal. Those South Africans probably stole the floor before it could be released. 😁 GregH Intel Core i7 14700K / Palit RTX4070Ti Super OC / Corsair 32GB DDR5 6000 MHz / MSI Z790 M/board / Corsair NVMe 9500 read, 8500 write / Corsair PSU1200W / CH Products Yoke, Pedals & Quad; Airbus Side Stick, Airbus Quadrant / TrackIR, 32” 4K 144hz 1ms Monitor

September 27, 20241 yr Really interested in feedback as this is pretty far from my normal beaten path but if performance matches the detail it looks like I am going to explore some new paths! United has a direct from KEWR to FAOR, 14 hours and 45 minutes. Thank you in advance, looking forward to hearing and fingers crossed it is a good performer! Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
September 27, 20241 yr My quick initial thoughts. It is good. Better than Gaffer Simulations version in terms of detail and textures. Airport feels more alive. It looks great (if not perhaps a little too clean and bright) and performance is brilliant on my PC, with AIG running at 80% What I don't like - looks like the runways were resurfaced just yesterday with brand new black tarmac and painted with brand new bright white paint. They do not look remotely like that and there are no tyre rubber marks because it is all so uniform dark black. I hope iniBuilds can relook at the texturing here. It is my biggest criticism. Also disappointed with the elevation of the embankment on RWY 03R. It is almost a flat area in this rendition. In reality there is a big embankment there. At night the runway and taxiway lighting seem too dim. The Atlas road (Denel) side of the airport to the east is modelled but not in great detail. No Cheetah (South Africa's adaptation of the Mirage III) on display at the Denel entrance gate, except the baked in satellite image. Thats nit-picking though! I also disabled static aircraft in iniManager as they are positioned on bays never used by these aircraft. However AIG also positions aircraft incorrectly. Then that's a problem with the airport's ade/afcad. Nothing to do with AIG. Daniel
