October 6, 20241 yr I set up a straight in approach to runway 06R at EGSU Duxford at a distance of 12nm (FSiPanel), and I noticed some annoying ground textures to the left of my plane. The attached screenshots clearly show joint lines between two different sets of ground textures, and these textures also exhibit a degree of "popping" when the plane is moving. Now, I appreciate that the ground image consistency is not perfect in MSFS, but what annoys me about this one is that it was not a problem before they updated some of the Bing textures. In addition to this nasty area of unrealistic and popping textures, there is a clearly visible joint line between "green field" and "dry brown field" textures that extends way past this location to London Stansted airport and beyond. I am happy that the Isle of Man textures were finally fixed in the same Bing update, but why did they have to make a mess of this area at the same time? Surely the most important aspect of terrain photoscenery is consistency? If it was consistent before, why ruin everything with a mismatched set of "updated" textures? It may not matter for internet surfers, but it is an absolute PITA for flight simulation. Nothing shatters immersion more for me than seeing stuff like this splattered across the landscape I really wish that they could sort this out https://www.mediafire.com/view/t9d1x03c6cich50/Duxford1.jpg/file https://www.mediafire.com/view/n8hom1yk3np9gm0/Duxford2.jpg/file https://www.mediafire.com/view/z8wxpxkmhmx4ipn/Duxford3.jpg/file https://www.mediafire.com/view/yagzu63p0yt0icb/Duxford4.jpg/file Edited October 6, 20241 yr by Christopher Low Christopher Low AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU / 64GB DDR5-6000 RAM / 12GB Nvidia RTX 4070 Super GPU / Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite Wifi 7 / 1+2TB Samsung Evo Plus M2 Nvme UK2000 Beta Tester
October 6, 20241 yr Should try flying in northern Canada. Some parts look like they took a jigsaw puzzle, mixed it up and dropped the pieces on a table and went with it. MSFS 2020's main strength is also its main weakness, taking Bing satellite imagery and converting to scenery. Good imagery good scenery, bad imagery bad scenery. Specs: black box thingy with spinning fans, lights and a bunch of wires that go to screens with pretty colours and a keyboard with many keys. The black box thingy also has a push button activated coffee cup holder. John C.
