Sure. As A YouTuber I would also search....because they earn money with people watching them AND companies CAN use them for making marketing.

But...if a companies releases like this...then a YouTube help can be your nightmare as well.

And the stream I watched...weren't that bad but they where clear about what they expected and found released.

That is important for Aerosoft.

I think aerosoft has a huge issue at their management.

And the only way YouTubers can make content is if companies give them products to review.

For this reason these so called content creators rarely if ever give an honest opinion if a product sucks!

If they give a critical truthful bad review they will eventually have nothing to review as companies will stop offering them an opportunity to "market" there stuff!

Chewy just showed exactly this. Instead of streaming it and the facing to have to do a scathing negative review, he decided to not stream the review.

That's not how that works. It's a job of people who give reviews to be honest in both directions and not to be the yes men of companies.

Actually, not being willing to review it because it is not up to the level of being reviewed is a review (and a scathing one) in of itself...    Says as much as anything to me.

Back int the day, I wrote for PC Gamer when print was still the thing. We had a very hard wall between advertising and editorial. I almost never got direct feedback from a publisher on a review. Usually, they'd threaten to pull ads, which they never did because that would be a bad marketing decision. But my editors kept that wall sacrosanct.

That wall is now gone. Now creators deal directly with publishers, sponsors, etc.

When I was reviewing, the bias was the normal internal stuff. All reviews are biased based since they are written by people who are predisposed to like or not like certain things. For example, having someone like AVAngel review the a350 is a bad use of her bias towards GA. My bias to like the types of games I reviewed was baked into the process.

Now, there is an external bias. Coupled by getting early access to products allows the steamer to get in on the early rush.

Now, it takes a lot to get through them but watching live steams makes it hard to hide sins. I always think that flying a plane live, on a vatsim event is about as much of a stress test as you can give how a plane responds.

No doubt! If he would have given it a scathing review it would have put his channel in jeopardy with the creator! Many watching these videos just don't see this! Crazy!

I have my doubts.

I see that only then, if a company has a product in which he or she self does not really believe, then they hold back the licences and keep YouTubers away, but if a company does have faith in their own product, i would be happy to share that with youtubers....they will do the rest.

In case of aerosoft....they had no idea how bad their own product was....probably..because they completely mismatched the expectations regarding their product.

Regards,

Marcus P.

It seems like the Aerosoft way of doing business.
They had a very good and well functioning Twin Otter Extended version for FSX/P3D.
Then they made a new version for MS2020, severely lacking in functionality.
Throughout the development process they received feedback and criticism in their own forums. They promised to fix certain things before launch, but didn't.
Then they just removed it from sale anywhere.

Then he is not independent, but a mouthpiece of the developers.

That’s not entirely true. At the end of his first look video, Easyjetsimpilot mentioned that he honestly couldn’t think of anything positive to say about the addon. Or something along those lines.

Chewwy literally gives negative reviews. He even gives negative feedback on MSFS hes neutral.

Again, the topic is the A330, not the integrity/lack of integrity inherent in reviews by streamers.
