October 19, 20241 yr Author Purchased Standard 😁 I already own the ATR72, the C-47 and CG-4, and a few more which I intend to port to 2024... But my goto aircraft are the PMDG 737, and Fenix 320, plus the FBW 32N I hope the rease version allows for installation into a different folder / drive from the base xBox one, as in 2020... October 19, 20241 yr What I don’t get is that the same people that complain about default aircraft are the ones that will more than likely buy the package with the most default aircraft. I actually end up flying 3rd party aircraft most, so it’s best for me to get in at the lowest possible price and use the savings on those aircraft requiring upgrade purchases and/or new releases.

Most of the aircraft in 2024 are being made by third party devs, and they're going to be higher quality than 2020's default aircraft. You can buy the higher edition aircraft by themselves in the marketplace, so buying a lower edition is still a good decision if you don't think you'll fly most of the higher edition ones. November 19, 20241 yr Premium Deluxe, I'm not sure what they're talking about 30 aircraft from the FS2020 store, but I think whatever they are I would've bought them if I was interested God speed, fellow Kiribatians!
November 19, 20241 yr Premium Deluxe. Couldn't help myself. Wanted to get Standard first because I don't need what's in the other versions but well... you never know. It's just nice to have it all. 😉
November 19, 20241 yr i usually opt for the poverty edition of things, but i like almost all the extra planes they've included in the pde.... so i went the pde. I guess they'd be $25aud individually anyway on the marketplace if i recall correctly, didn't the steam msfs2020 standard edition increase by $10aud almost immediately after the release date?
November 19, 20241 yr I haven't preordered anything, as there's no real incentive to do so (good for Asobo to not give in to any shady preorder-bonus BS). I'll wait for a few first reviews or reports on performance, server stability or any serious issues and then buy it if things look stable enough.
November 19, 20241 yr I just bought the premium deluxe version through steam. I was hopeful that I could start preloading it but that's not a thing apparently. I guess we are gonna stress the hell out of their servers when we all are downloading at the same time. MSFS Alpha tester on W10 Pro x64. Hardware: AMD 5900X 12 core CPU. Cooler Master ML360R AIO, Asus X570-E mobo, Asus Strix 3090 24GB gfx card, G.Skill TridentZ 64GB (4x16) DDR4-3600 RAM, Samsung 970 250GB SSD (OS), Samsung 980 Pro 1TB M.2 pcie-4 NVMe SSD (MSFS install). EVGA 850w Gold cert PSU, CUK Continuum full ATX tower. 43" Sceptre 4K display. VR: HP Reverb G2.
November 19, 20241 yr For now I've all games with steam. Never bought anything in the ms store, but I don't see the benefit anymore as cdkeys is cheaper: https://www.cdkeys.com/xbox-live/microsoft-flight-simulator-2024-aviator-edition-xbox-series-x-s-pc-ww Any reason why I should stay with steam? Will cdkeys get more expensive if I wait some days?
November 19, 20241 yr Left my preorder late, but just dropped the hammer on the Aviator edition at AUD$299. Meh, the dollars per hour over a four year period is pretty good value. And I’ve spent that much on a single aircraft before (PMDG P3D 777 + upgrade, to give just one example). So Aviator Club it is. 😊 Edited November 19, 20241 yr by OzWhitey Oz Sim Rig: MSI RTX3090 Suprim, an old, partly-melted Intel 9900K @ 5GHz+, Honeycomb Alpha, Thrustmaster TPR Rudder, Warthog HOTAS, Reverb G2, Prosim 737 cockpit. Lots of people here and on Reddit saying they’re just getting the Standard, but the stats here do not support this. I learned to always get the Deluxe+ edition back in the MSFS 2002 days. I’d be sad if I couldn’t fly aircraft that other people were recommending. November 19, 20241 yr I hope it's released before WW3 which appears to be due later on today I do find it a little mystifying why pre-loads don't seem to be as common as they used to (anecdotally, I could be wrong) Surely it's in everyone's interests to get the main bulk of the data onto people's hard drives over a period of weeks, and then update it to latest build incrementally on release? I wonder what the long term situation is with this as I've been interested in buying through cd keys in the past edit - looks like people are still reporting it as an issue in September 24. Are there any Avsim members who've had recent success with xbox play anywhere games as cross platform installs on PC? Edited November 19, 20241 yr by dogmanbird
