Because it's own folder is FS2000 practice - not correct for FS2004 or FSX.Search for files in the scenery folder beginning with FSG*.*

Hi there,"Because it's own folder is FS2000 practice - not correct for FS2004 or FSX."huh?I quote from the FS2004 Terrain SDK, in the section about creating custom mesh files:"The easiest way to add a new .bgl file to Flight Simulator is to copy it into the ADDON SCENERYSCENERY directory in the folder where you installed Flight Simulator 2004. "Note that SceneryWorldscenery isn't mentioned here, which is the folder where FS9 stores the default mesh. Never mind the fact that the default terrain mesh files of FSX, in contrast to FS9, are stored in the regional (numbered) scenery folders. The reason why add-on developers don't all stuff their files into Addon Sceneryscenery is because it would end up being one #### of a confusing mess. Similarly, if everyone would place their add-on files into any of the other generic folders, it would make installing, uninstalling, updating, and resolving compatibility issues difficult if not impossible. It's not necessarily a bad idea to "mimic" ACES in regards to where they place specific types of data files but that doesn't mean that using other or external add-on folders is automatically "incorrect". What is important is that the developer is aware of the possible interactions with other files of similar or different type. Terrain mesh files happen to have display priority issues when they overlap spatially, with FS9 having the reverse display priority than FSX or FS2002. That's why it's a good idea to keep terrain mesh files in separate add-on folders that can be moved around in the scenery library menu. Cheers, Holger

Go to add and remove programs. FSG mesh also has its own uninstaller(s) the last time I checked.you wil also find them in your Windows start menu programs listIt installs into the proper terrain folders to keep the mess down.
