It was a truly ridiculous policy from the get-go.

Perhaps it has to do with age classification; Without weapons it will have no issue to be unrestricted for any age group in any country. Once you add weapons that might change.

  • It's Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, not Microsoft Civilian Flight Simulator 2024.  It has several default military aircraft including armed ones.

It's a people problem, not an aircraft problem.

No. Jorg said clearly that they looked into it, it was simply a decision by Microsoft, so they were free to change it and they did.

The "E" rating allows for mild violence, and the depiction of weapons that can't be used certainly fits within that.

One thing I did not expect is to see people here complain about a concession to realism in a flight simulator.

I suppose this is further evidence that there will always be someone unhappy about something.

I think maybe as long as the aircraft with cosmetic weapons only came with avatar pilots of 12 year old boys going 'ratatatatatat, piow-piow', it should be allowed.

Where are they mounted in a 737?

Why, funny you should ask, Bob! They're mounted pert near all over the place:

Here's a better angle, but you can't see the torpedoes in the...y'know...BOMB bay 😁

Does this mean that Dean may replace the flashlight of his A-10 with a decent gun?
And I do hope that the Super Hornet gets some ordinance too without having to fiddle with a mod.

They did not say whether Microsoft itself would release aircraft with weapons, but the A-10 is done by DC Designs, so it's very likely that the gun is coming anyway, one way or the other.,

Nothing wrong with peace. Plenty wrong with censorship.
