Intersection Color

Recommended Posts

In the FSX default flight planner, the Intersections are either light red or light blue colored triangles. I've never been able to figure out the difference between them or why they are different colors. Anybody know this?

Not sure what that document has to do with his question... I believe he was referring to AIRWAY intersections :-)

In FS, there is the concept of WAYPOINT and TERMINAL WAYPOINT. For the most part, the WAYPOINTs (magenta/redish) are enroute (used in constructing IFR airways) and use the 5 letter pronounceable identifiers. The TERMINAL WAYPOINTs (blue) are used in the construction of instrument approach procedures. Often they have number/letter combination identifiers referred to as "tactical" waypoints (typically used to construct the procedures in a format the GPS or FMS can use).In the sim, the WAYPOINTs are contained in the ATXaabb0.bgl files, while the TERMINAL WAYPOINTS are "owned by" individual airports in the APXaabb0.bgl files.scott s..

If I recall correctly they represent victor or jet airways also called low or high airways...It's been a while since I looked at that info so I defer to those who may have a more accurate recollection:-)
