Looks like Inibuilds have done a great job of the new Innsbruck. it's one i visit quite often so, i will likely take a plunge on it despite having the orbx version, this just looks so realistic.

Tempted to buy this as I use ORBX too since years. Just hesitating as Ini says the scenery may cause scenery errors when photogrammetry is off. Since I always fly with PG off, anybody here able to tell what surprises I can expect with PG off?

In my experience, their products are vram/texture heavy.  But they do look really good no doubt.

They always say that. It remains a mystery to me why they do not care about non PG users as much as PG users. They are both valid ways of running the simulator.

At their forum I see a few issues :

Quote :

“After having a quick peak I noticed static airport vehicles like the ambulance, firefighter etc. have LOD pop-in at close distance, same for the terras seat and tables.

Also some buildings have white emmisive textures at night close to the airport. “

As I am interested in this airport (also have the Orbx version I am also curious if the static planes can be removed ?

they said they'd be focusing harder on optimization a few months ago with their future products.

Then it's a win-win situation, those who want it have static, those who don't want it can deactivate it, good solution ! 🫠

cheers 😉

Possible issues with PG turned off? Hmm, seems a bit silly IMO. I'm sure there must be as many simmers run MS with PG turned off, as there are with it turned on!

It's the same with their JFK scenery. Don't think I've heard of PG having to be on with other developers.

A bit odd me finks  I would have thought any developer would want to maximise sales be making their product attractive to as many potential customers as possible. I did have an issue with MKStudios' Seville, where there was, I think it was a windsock, or perhaps a tree, can't remember exactly, smack bang in the middle of one of the taxiways! On contacting them, they did say that the issue wasn't present with PG tutned on. I explained that I don't fly with PG turned on. They agreed to give me a refund, which is sad, as it was an airport I wanted in that part of Spain. I also experienced issues with orbx Sydney Cityscape, where there was an issue with the road connecting the big bridge in the city. I was told that it was only present with PG turned off. Again, I got a refund. I'm not a scenery dev by any stretch of the imagination, but I would have thought, from what I've read elsewhere, that it would be a fairly easy fix in situations like these. Re Inibuilds Innsbruck, it's such an iconic airport for most simmers, it would be a shame for it not to be accessible to all. I would buy it in an instance, but obviously not because of possible issues. I find it strange, and perhaps someone could enlighten me, but how is it that Orbx can develop a scenery of a particular airport with no issues, but yet another dev can't.

I could be wrong, but I don’t think there’s any photogrammetry near the airport, so you should be fine.

Someone correct if I’m wrong.

I think ini is just putting that warning on all their airports now by default, even if there’s no photogrammetry in the area. Probably to cover their asses in cases like yours.

Like their Nairobi and Johannesburg sceneries have the same warning but there is no photogrammetry in that city
