November 5, 20241 yr It is interesting to me that some downright refuse to understand the purpose of Discord much less try and learn how to use it, but gleefully will print 600 page documentation to learn an aircraft. It really isn't that complicated if you just take some time with it. However, if not organized properly can be chaotic, this isn't specific to Discord, Forums are prone to this as-well. Change is a very normal part of the internet and new technologies will surface, there's nothing wrong with getting accustomed with it so you're not left confused if said service becomes the primary.

Have to agree. Not sure why there's so much push back regards Discord Servers. For developers they are a great way to interact with the community, resolve issues with most having comms channels for product and support discussions. Almost all developer discords have nominated admins, support personnel and moderators who chat live. Jase
November 5, 20241 yr So it looks like PMDG asked the unofficial PMDG Discord server, whether they could take over it and make it the official PMDG Discord server, and the admins of the unofficial PMDG Discord server agreed, and the unofficial PMDG Discord server turned into the official PMDG Discord server. I was confused at first because I was on the unofficial PMDG Discord server and when I clicked on the link to join the official PMDG Discord server, it was just the same Discord server. i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM

Meaning it was run by people not employed by PMDG. But it's one and the same now, check my comment above. i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM

November 5, 20241 yr Change is something that does not come naturally to me. It was 2019 before I had my own mobile phone, and it took me three years to upgrade from P3Dv4 to MSFS. On a similar note, I find the likes of Discord to be somewhat uncomfortable when compared to forums like AVSIM. A bit too cluttered with fancy emojis and pointless posts. I appreciate that it is all part of the modern world, but I much prefer the relative formality and understated nature of forums.
