I'm wondering how users have set up their thrust reversers on their throttles. Do you map buttons that can be depressed to deploy or do you map an axis like throttles?

well. depends on the hardware. my thrustmaster airbus quadrant comes with axes so I map them. that would look completely different if I mapped a mouse button....

I map a lever on my Thrustmaster Warthogg joystick for thrust reversers. I could use the throttles by lifting them, and pulling them back into reverse thrust, but find the former easier.

Button 2 on my CH Flightstick Pro joystick. I press and hold it, and then move the throttle wheel forward. I move the throttle wheel back, and then release the button when I want to disengage. Works a treat.

I'm using an Velocity One flight stick, What mapping do you assign your lever to, to get thrust reversers to deploy?

Which lever if I may ask?

I use VKB STECS with small detents set to act as button presses. I then assign the buttons to 'THROTTLE X DECREASE' in MSFS.

I lifting my TM Warthog throttles and pulling them back into reverse thrust, it works well as my TM throttle is screwed into a table mount.

This should likely address some of your questions:

Unfortunately, there is also an issue with ASOBO because it does not have a reverse thrust axis. It appears that they can't understand that airplanes don't have buttons for reversers. I fully understand having buttons for a game as such, but the lack of a thrust reverser axis is so dumb.

Same setup here. Only finicky thing is to trigger an idle thrust. For me it requires a couple of taps instead of a hold.

I have a Warthog Throttle and set it up in that way:

When I press a button with my thumb, "normal" fwd axis will be disable and turn into reverse axis as long as the button is pressed.

It is not 100% realistic to push then throttles forward for reverse, but advantage is, you can control reverse very good and precise.

What is great with turboprops for example during taxi (e.g. FSR500)
