iniBuilds Tease Upcoming Lockheed Tristar Releasing in 2025

I think I have died and gone to heaven, 😄. The L-1011 has always been my favorite aircraft. I have flown on them 5 times in my lifetime, mainly Delta. I'm more excited for this over any other classic.

  • I appreciate Inbuild passion for building new aircraft. However, small ATC bug in A300 that take to change one line of code has been on back burner for months. So much building and so little fixing 😞

I wonder how navigation will be managed with such classics?

In their era they had tradition radio aids plus maybe Loran or INS?

Traditional radio aids are becoming few now the world has shifted to RNAV.

Same thoughts. These things went away when a STAR was two intersecting radials and 3-4 fixes with one altitude restriction, obviously now you can load an RNAV procedure with no ground based nav and over a dozen crossing restrictions going into nearly any major US airport. For me it makes the older nav systems more of a challenge (not in a good way… it’s just annoying and super high workload)

Yes!  Great news.  I have been waiting for this.  I have flown on a few.  Caledonian, Royal Air (Canada) etc.  One of my favourite liners of all time.

I suppose we won't know which models for a while. I think Saudia used the -100, but I would love to see one in Court Line livery (unfortunately they were -1's I think)
Hopefully they can get around to that model and the -500 in time.

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Oooh I love the L1011, like a DC-10 but with nicer lines.

Really excited to see this.

What bug is that? And how do you know it only takes a single line to change?

They said in their 2024 plans announcement that they will be fixing bugs in the A300.

This is an instant buy for me Even the CS one back in FSX/P3D wasn't too bad and gave me hours of fun! That flying tail is just insane!

Later-model Tristars had an FMS that allowed RNAV:

"The BA TriStar 500s were also fitted with a flight management system (FMS) that worked in the vertical as well as the horizontal sense, allowing accurate area navigation and reduced fuel consumption. The FMS navigation input was from a triplex inertial navigation system updated by inputs from ground-based beacons such as VOR/DME."

Assuming this is modeled, RNAV SIDs and STARs should not present a problem.

In many ways, the Tristar was the most technologically advanced of the trijet bunch. Another unique feature was "direct lift control" (DLC), which used spoilers to control the descent angle on the approach, controlled directly by stick deflections. More on DLC here:

Raised this on their Discord too. The A300’s VNAV constraint handling has been undeniably broken since June without any fixes. They’ve acknowledged the bug but just no patches.

This was a complaint when they were developing for XP too, no?

My favorite aircraft.  I was fortunate enough to work these jets for years here in KATL.  Was an A&P avionics tech.  Got to go on a lot of test hops in the jump seat.  I especially loved being in the cockpit for a CAT III landing.  This will be a day one buy even if it’s riddled with bugs.

I haven't flown this aircraft for a good five months now because of these issues. I tis too bad because it has so much potential, they included some character in the aircraft and I was looking forward to spending a good amount of time in it but it just did not work out. I hope when they bring it over to 2024 they will go back and take care of these issues.

NO WAY! 😍 I love the DC-10... but also the TriStar! Amazing!
