How to find duplicate ADE? (Afcad)

I have a problem with Mexico city, but the airport doesn't really matter.
I have an ADE file set inside the scenery folder to layer 999. Despite that I reeeeeaaaally see, that there is another ADE file in play, but I spent hours finding the culprit with no luck.

The bizzare thing is how this ADE file can be over layer 999, and I have no idea how to find it.

In the old days with AFCAD program for FS2004, you just open the program, type in the airport code and it shows you all registered afcad files for this airport, incl. the default one.

Any ideas?

You can find an AFCAD file with a file search. Instead of Windows Search, I use Everything https://www.voidtools.com/

This is 100 times faster.

Now how to search:

ADE files usually are of the pattern *ICAO*.bgl e.g. *ksmf*.bgl for sacramento. If you search with everything you get maybe three files like this:

ADEX_FTX_NCA_KSMF_Sacramento_Intl.bgl

ADEX_FTX_NCA_KSMF_Sacramento_Intl_CVX.bgl

FTX_NCA_objects_KSMF_PLC.bgl

The first is the ADE, the second is the the terrain file (flatten etc.)  and third are objects.

To see, which one of two competing AFCAD files is loaded into the sim, I use GSX. Inside the sim I get into edit mode for a parking and at the top it shows me the file beeing used by the sim.

For Mexico City I have the AFCAD file MMMX_ADEX_ADE.bgl on my system. I have the T2G MMMX scenery and also the MMMX Add-on for T2G MMMX Extreme from VOR Mexico Studios.

Just saw it got a one star rating by a user frustrated by the procedure to install it. I got it to work but had also modified the afcad. I can send it to you. Just pm me your e-mail.

Thank you for your effort, but I started 25 years ago exactly with FS2002, so I ain't a newbie)))
Again thanx. Beleive me, I tried everything

There is no bgl matching mmmx*.bgl or mexico*.bgl which does not belong to the scenery.

I am afraid some installer have overwritten a bgl inisde the numeric folders of root P3D, the ones that are named 0523 or 2543 etc

Use Little navmap:

https://www.avsim.com/forums/forum/780-little-navmap-little-navconnect-little-logbook-support-forum/

After you scanned the scenery lib, click the airport on the map and you can see in the info all bgl related to it, including the default one.

One note if you are on P3Dv5, if your scenery ADE file is made for previous version, the exclusion and flatten would not work well, thus you see "another ADE file in play".

Recompile it with ADE and v5's SDK, or just get the official v5 version.

Thank you again for the navmap, as I can see there is no other ade file and I have no idea why there is such a strange behaviour.

Yo can see here:

Let me elaborate, why I thought There was another ADE file... I have completely manually changed all the parking gates and codes, but when I start the Sim the aircraft are positioned randomly. Aeromexico instead of T2 is positioned at Cargo and T1, Aeromar the same despite having a standalone apron.

Pete Dowson’s MakeRwys scans all BGLs and generates a file containing all the runways and parking positions. It’s placed in the root P3D folder.

You could then search for MMMX and it should find all files containing it.

Guys, you won't beleive it, the problem just vanished after P3D restart #355 since yesterday.
The ADE started acting normal, all airlines in place

This stupid f***ing P3D and our addiction to it is just not normal..
It lives it's own life, randomly hangs, randomly makes tricks like the one with Mexico and once you solve one problem, there is always a new oneconstantly a

I am sure you feel better after that rant!

Bear in mind that many of us do not have major recurring problems and for us P3D is stable. It depends a lot on your hardware and what you expect from it.

Don't forget to look at SODE xml folder, I could swear there was another Mallorca (LEPA) in some place in my simulator that makes double lights (taxi and RWY lights). There was a lost xml in SODE folder of another LEPA scenery that I deleted, and that was the cause of double lightning!

The situation that you had is easily explained because nowadays all the modern sceneries make lights and runway puddles sode controlled

That was expected

The 0203 Base APX21250.bgl is exact the "another ade inisde the numeric folders of root P3D, the ones that are named 0523 or 2543 etc"

You may try remove it temporarily and see if it fixed, but be careful, it might also content couple other airports near by.

But again, if the default one is drawing over the current one, it's likely due to the ADE for add-on not have proper v5 compatible exclusion and flatten flag.
