A Pilots life uses real world schedules for each airline, and grades the pilots performance on each flight, not some pretend " Do you want to fight fires in a C 172"....😉

Pilots life is still  pretend. No check rides, no proficiency checks, no recurring training, no route check out...Flying single pilot and get punished for using long pauses. As real as it can't get LOL

Although I personally have little interest in avatar creation or career mode, as a pilot and lifelong AOPA member, I wholeheartedly support anything that inspires new or younger generations to embrace

  • Some people loved the elitist, insular, basically dead flight simulation community that existed before MSFS. It gave them a way to feel "special" I suppose, superior to all these "normal" gamers.

  • You definitely haven't been following what the career mode is all about. @Bobsk8 It's funny that you liked that post when you use A Pilot's Life V2 lol.

I've got news for you, it's still pretend. Aside from real world schedules, the career mode is going to rate you on your performance and it is NOT going to ask you to put out a fire in a C 172. Try to keep the assumptions at the door.

Nobody on this forum has a sense of humor .. Enjoy your "career"..

I personally think I will try both. Will wait and see if 3rd party mission can be flown bypassing main career. Certainly nothing is carved into the stone. Remember MSFS has been greatly driven by "simmers" not by developers, so f majority want something to change most likely it will

Not true! I'm joking 110% of the time Bob... specially when I say I'm installing a sim, when indeed I just uninstall'em-all 🤣

It's all pretend, you want reality, get a pilots  license and get up in the air for real.

I always was thinking if somebody could combine Airhauler, Neofly, PilotLIfe by incorporating best features of all in one add on. Like in Neofly you have to take exam in particular category before you can fly it. I think it's reasonable enough; however, I like more exam structure itself in AirHauler. PilotsLife could bring real life airline schedules, seniority levels and etc, but there is no freedom to fly free flight and to be counted toward you career.

Will see what MSFS2040 bring and how it can be tweaked

If you wanted to be super realistic I’d fail my virtual aviation medical and then the sim would delete itself lol.

Then what was the point of your post comparing them?

just hope that 3RD parties dev will make their aircrafts compatible with it.

Only Marketplace bought aircraft will be compatible.

The only thing funnier than pretending to fly an aircraft on your computer is pretending to do a job while pretending to fly an aircraft on your computer. Just as I would feel silly (perhaps embarrassed is a better word) pretending to fly an F16, I would feel silly pretending to rescue 'people' from a burning oil rig.

Personally, I try to keep it as simple and as realistic as possible - pretending to fly an aircraft I could conceivably fly if I could afford it, to all the places I could conceivably fly it to. Some may find that limiting but I would feel very uncomfortable stretching the fantasy too much further than that.

If I want to pretend to be someone else, I have proper games for that.

 9950X3D - X870E Aorus Master- TUF 5090 OC - 64GB DDR5 - 1500W HXi - Titan 360 RX LCD - 9100 Pro x 2  - LG 45GX950A - HOTAS Warthog with Ava Base

I do agree with some that locking some of these activities behind the career mode is a bit limiting.

Let us just load up a fire fighting activity outside of the career mode.

Is it official? If real that makes the career mode quite useless for me...

Yes. It was brought up in one of the Q&As, I think the first SDK one

What a bad decision...

It has something to do with the verification process to make sure they work

The default aircraft in the same area all very high quality, so I’m not sure why it makes it useless.
