Look here I have no time for that and voted NO but if anyone else thinks a career mode is legit with 2 Cessna 172 circuits to get a PPL than more power to them but that is not how the real world works blahblahblah

I bet you're fun to hang out with. Did you have a purpose for being here other than trying to irritate people? Do you not have anything better to do with your time?

Although I personally have little interest in avatar creation or career mode, as a pilot and lifelong AOPA member, I wholeheartedly support anything that inspires new or younger generations to embrace

  • Some people loved the elitist, insular, basically dead flight simulation community that existed before MSFS. It gave them a way to feel "special" I suppose, superior to all these "normal" gamers.

  • You definitely haven't been following what the career mode is all about. @Bobsk8 It's funny that you liked that post when you use A Pilot's Life V2 lol.

Yeah its called a real job in FACT. I do love to play flightsim2020 from time to time though.

In career mode if it’s an aircraft you own, you’ll either have to repair it or replace it with the money you earned.

To me that's a typical "game thing", earning money or points or whatever. 😉

I will definitely try the career mode to see what it is about - I am guessing it will be similar to how Fspassengers worked back in FSX days. You start by flying small pistons and work your way up to jets. I haven't seen the actual career mode or what it will represent but I am looking forward in trying it.

I am really hoping it might mange to teach  me how to fly a helicopter as all my previous attempts have ended in abject failure.

I didn't realize that real life was a game then.

Completely uninteresting for me. Looks like something some people (gamers, newbies?) would enjoy, so nice to have it there as long as it doesn't interfere with "regular operations".

Boomer simmers will never forgive Asobo for bringing back MS Flight Simulator. 😁

Ah, so nice to pop back into AvSim and see that things still haven't changed and people are still having the same discussions they had in 2019. 😅

Lol, but I think you know what I meant.

I do, and it’s silly stance.

The mode is simulating an aviation career, why wouldn’t it have money?

It’s for everyone. It was a highly requested feature.

Third party apps that do similar things sell very well, have done so for other sims even before 2020

Of course I plan to at least try it.  Adding a tycoon-like structure to what I'm flying and where I'm flying is something I welcome, so long as it's not too restrictive. I'm also interested in trying some of the careers to see how in-depth the representation of them goes.

But have fun in MSFS v2024 simulating that I just want to do my normal DC to Atlanta flying maybe twice a week.

I'm stilling missing the part where the person spending a few hours flying A to B in the sim has more of "a life" than the person spending a few hours flying as part of a career-like structure in the sim.

Search and Rescue, fire fighting, cargo transport and celebrity flights are all 'regular operations'.  Whatever routes you fly in MSFS, you had to decide a departure and arrival.  Career mode in 2024 enhances the route decision with an added purpose.  Once in the aircraft it will fly exactly the same as your manually created flight.

If this feature in 2024 doesn't interest you then fine, but describing it in a derogatory way (gamers/newbies) says more about you than the sim.

Derogatory? So gamers and newbies are "bad" people, that's what you mean?

Because i've been there (not in the sim, in IVAO with actual people - I made my "career" there with actual exams online, etc), thus my lack of interest now because i was a newbie back then and i have well over 25k hours in sims today.

Either you got the wrong message or cannot accept an opinion.
