Personally, I have space on my C drive to install 50 GB, so I'll start with that and move the Content later, unless the installer allows me to change the location for the Content at install time. I have my 2020 base install on the C drive, and the Content on the D drive, and I will try to do the same again. Edited November 18, 20241 yr by Bert Pieke Bert

Its a little tricky. When you choose a different drive some notice pops up making you think it won’t be allowed but it just means that after selecting a new drive you then also need to choose a folder on that drive. So make that folder ahead of time so you can then specify it

My original 2020 install put everything in C. That lasted 30 days or so until I deleted and reinstalled. I was a day one install so this is about four years past but…even tho I don’t quite remember how it can be done, I know it can so I will patiently await a few thousand generous, caring and sharing guinea pigs to work it out ahead of me, making my estimated install time 10:00am PDT 😊😊😊 -B

If you just try to change the folder first without doing that the folder that you select must be on the C:/ drive. But if you change in the dropdown to e.g. your F:/ drive first you'll then be able to select a folder on the F:/ drive. Edited November 19, 20241 yr by Tektolnes

So, I got to install 2020 all over again on a new PC. And guess what, the installation process has changed over the four years that have passed. This time around, the sim installed itself in C : \XBox games.. and when "checking for updates" it offered me the option to change the location for its Content. Lets see what 2024 does.. it already has a "Limitless" placeholder in XBox games, so that is likely the install location.. and the Content... we'll see. It is also going to need a bigger Rolling Cache to store the streamed airplane and scenery data, so that may be another choice we get to make.. 🙂 Bert
