>Wow - you went overboard with the instructions - no>worries... the only thing you have to modify is aircraft VHHX>JET txt file...>>Remove everything that you installed so far so we can start>clean.>>1. I install all the AIs to SimObject folder - no need to>install into a separate AI folder (but if it works just fine ->leave all as they are - you say you have AI everywhere else).>>2. I assume you installed VHHX scenery correctly and you do>have the actual airport with the lead in lights etc. ?>>3. Open Jim's aircraft VHHX Jet.txt file, keep the AC# same,>only thing we'll replace are names of aircraft. To do that ->just hunt for the right models thru your AI aircraft.cfg>files: ex. AI folder WOA 744 GE for example will have>aircraft.cfg file in it for 747-400. Scroll to the bottom of>cfg file and find sections containing aircraft names (ex. WOA>747-400 KLM) - copy that and paste that over Jim's Boeing>747-400 Asiana in the aircraft VHHX Jet.txt file. Do this for>all AC# lines (do not change anything else) - keep everything>else the same (make sure you keep "" around aircraft names).>Don't worry about the airlines or repaints etc. for now - you>can do that once you learn the AI/flight plans installation>process.>>If you have enough AI installed - you'll have no problems>finding different repaints of 747-400 or A340-300 etc. as most>aircraft.cfg contain more than one flightsim.x sections with>separate aircraft names in them. Try to find unique 747-400>names - or you'll end up with same 747-400 repaint for every>747-400 Jim listed.>>Of course - if you already have all the models that Jim listed>- then of course keep the right models/airlines/textures ->just make sure that you grab the names of aircraft from your>own aircraft.cfg files.>>4. Copy 3 flight plan files (with of course your modified>aircraft jet vhhx.txt) over to a TTools.exe directory. Start>TTools - compile the 3 files - this will create a bgl file in>that directory - copy that bgl over to scenery/world/scenery>where you have renamed aircraftTraffic.bgl to>aircraftTraffic.bgl.xxx and copied the FSX GA and FSX VHHX GA>files.>>STart FSX - you should have the planes.>>That's all you have to do.>>If you still have problems - post away...Well.Here I am,posting away....I am beginning to feel really dumb....Ok,I went into the "SimobjectsAI" folder, and opened each "AC#" file and copied and pasted the title= description over to the FP aircraft.txt file, so they matched...Kept the "" around the description...All a/c folders in "simobjectsAIAC# have model, texture, soundai,.air, and .cfg files...So this is becoming a real challenge....I,v had no problem building this FSX rig, putting LOTS of fs9 planes in FSX,ETC.,ETC.,..I am all ears and appreciate all help...I WANT VHHX AI 3RD PARTY JET TRAFFIC...LOL...Thanks Lou

Remove the AC# folders from simobjectsAI - all of them. Just keep the original AI plane folders that you installed.Reply here with pasted copies of Jim's aircraft file (only) and an aircraft.cfg for a 747-400 AI - I can't access library from work and can't download it here.I'll show you exactly what you need to do...

Wait a minute...Do you mean that all I have to do is delete the AC# folders and then c&p the title= description from a AI plane folder in a WOAI folder and the flight plan will detect and use that plane????....I don,t have to have seperate plane folders for different Flight plans??? Lou

I haven't cleaned up my default names. And for now I would recommend that you use defaults - who knows how many places you would have to change that at - keep it simple - delete your VHHX and all the AC# folders and start from the beginning.Use defaults like WoA_AIA_B744_D_JAL-Japan Airlines names. All you have to do after you change the names with the ones from aircraft.cfg is to compile the 3 txt files into bgl and place it into the scenery/world/scenery folder where are the other flight plans reside - make sure you make default aircraftTraffic inactive. That's all - you don't have to create separate folders for VHHX or any other folders at all !!!I have all my default FSX and AI planes all in one simobjects/aircraft default folder. All traffic bgls are in the scenery/world/scenery.Try it the simple way - just do what I described...

Ok,Jacob....Did it exactly how you said and I HAVE AI AT KAI TAK....AHHH,LIFE IS GOOD!!!...Whew,There for awhile I was beginning to think I had bitten off more than I could chew....I had three JAL planes, hopfully more on a different schedule......Tell me again what you meant about planes showing all with the same texture....And I thank you ,Jim Vile and everyone else that has helped me...Now going to try to get more of the planes on the flight plan to work....Thanks again ....Lou

I'm glad !!!Forget the textures - that was only a shortcut for someone who didn't want to download all planes and airlines listed in Jim's file.Set the winds as per Jim's directions, up the traffic and enjoy following some 747s on Approach to Kai Tak rwy 13 checkerboard style !!!

Yeh,I,m also glad as that was bugging me...One thing I noticed was that the flight plan had two listings for ac#8322(I think..did,nt write it down).Just deleted it...Also I was looking and saw that under the same AC#,there would be different tail id numbers...Maybe Jim will post and let us know if that matters..AI can be intriguing..Anyway,Thanks again for you help,Jacob.....Lou

My pleasure - enjoy !!! Now I have to actually find the real planes / airline textures to match Jim's files to reflect 1998 Kai Tak reality.

Hi,Jacob.....I am finding AI to be more challenging than I thought it would be,so I also am thinking like you....Going to be spending alot of time reading and trying to get the originals....Lou
