Well, I got through to the signup screen where you enter your email.  Clicking on the line gives a momentary cursor line, but then doesn't accept keyboard input.

Anybody know how to get this to work?

The problem is its trying so hard to reach the server, it gives no time to enter anything with the keyboard.

I actually ended up writing it in notepad , copying and pasting in the sign up. Even that took several tries.

and then it stayed at zero for 20 minutes.

Best just to wait a day or 2 and hope for better bandwith as MS gets its act together.

Unplug your controllers. It’s trying to cycle through with those. 

hit Alt+enter to enter windowed mode, that should help

You can also use the tab key and enter to select.
