While for a lot of people it seems like GTA the don't know that IRL you spent your time on the ground planning and "pre-flying" airplane . That is 20-30 minutes if you do thoroughly by the book. MSFS2024 still spare you from postflight time LOL There are no arguments here - a lot of bugs! However, overall 2024 launch is much better than 2020 because core improvements are here already. What's the point of creating such a topic when you know the sim doesn't work yet ? Shouldn't you have waited a few days, when people are finally able to try it in "normal" condition and make their opinion, before creating it ?
November 21, 20241 yr Today I planned a circuit with A330. It is growing on me as well. Thanks to inibuilds as well. I9 12900K @ 5.1ghz P-cores/ 4.0 ghz E-cores fixed HT off / Corsair iCue H150i Capellix Cooler/ MSI Z690 CARBON WiFi / 32GB Corsair DDR5 RAM @ 5200 mhz XMP on / 12GB MSI 4090 RTX Ventus 3 / 7,5 total TB SSD (2+2+2+1+0,5 all NVMe)/ PSU 850W Corsair / 27" (1080P)
November 21, 20241 yr For sure there are problems, I , for example, cannot get around the silly controls assignments. It's like the thing has a life on it's own! At one moment the profile is empty, then it has assignments that should not be there or are assigned to a different profile altogether. There are positives and like the others have said, it's growing on me. I started a career and boy it was a nice experience! Passed my PPL and CPL and did a few missions. Low and slow, a welcome change from flying the big tubes in MSFS2020! Scenery is better to my eye. Lighting is much improved and I really, really like the turbulence in small aircraft! Performance also seems better than in 2020, I have everything on Ultra, FPS capped at 60, resolution 1440.
November 21, 20241 yr On the fence.... waiting the dust to settle, meanwhile enjoying FS2020 and my other sims. Alexander Colka
November 21, 20241 yr Not worth jumping in now if you're averse to bugs or server load issues obviously... but if you're able to keep 2020 running and use 2024 as it evolves to enjoy the numerous and significant improvements (with the bugs) over 2020, then a resounding yes it looks like for being "worth it". Len 1980s: Sublogic FS II on C64 ---> 1990s: Flight Unlimited I/II, MSFS 95/98 ---> 2000s/2010s: FS/X, P3D, XP ---> 2020+: MSFS Current system: i9 13900K, RTX 4090, 64GB DDR5 4800 RAM, 4TB NVMe SSD
November 21, 20241 yr Infested with bandwidth messages still today. But lot less blurrs. I9 12900K @ 5.1ghz P-cores/ 4.0 ghz E-cores fixed HT off / Corsair iCue H150i Capellix Cooler/ MSI Z690 CARBON WiFi / 32GB Corsair DDR5 RAM @ 5200 mhz XMP on / 12GB MSI 4090 RTX Ventus 3 / 7,5 total TB SSD (2+2+2+1+0,5 all NVMe)/ PSU 850W Corsair / 27" (1080P)
November 21, 20241 yr I have to say the amount of messages has drastically decreased. I9 12900K @ 5.1ghz P-cores/ 4.0 ghz E-cores fixed HT off / Corsair iCue H150i Capellix Cooler/ MSI Z690 CARBON WiFi / 32GB Corsair DDR5 RAM @ 5200 mhz XMP on / 12GB MSI 4090 RTX Ventus 3 / 7,5 total TB SSD (2+2+2+1+0,5 all NVMe)/ PSU 850W Corsair / 27" (1080P)
November 21, 20241 yr I have no server issues, no bandwidth issues, I love the new sim. It is far better than 2020 for me. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. November 21, 20241 yr Not worth the hype for me. Too many things aren't working and performance is bad on my PC. And since things on Medium looks like word not allowed and worse than MSFS2020 I am back to MSFS2020. Perhaps in the future (after buying a new PC) it will be worth the hype but for now: no. Even if the fix the most glaring bugs I apparently need a new PC to get things to look like MSFS2020. It honestly looks like a Nintendo Wii game on my PC. Very (if not extremely) disappointed. I was pretty excited the last few days but that was mainly because I didn't do an actual flight yet. I just did and... game over for now.
November 21, 20241 yr I am very much glad I did not succumb to the hype and held out from pre ordering. most users are going through some real pain right now and the frustration is real, I've been watching lots of streamers on YT basically just trying to get some decent flights in to showcase things, and its just full of crashes, having to continually bind things, textures just disappearing and the entire sim just looking awful, missing content, floating people and on and on...Hats off to some of you, you have more patience than i would have had! On a similar note I've been a gamer for decades, and I have this horrible feeling that the MS franchise is going down the EA games route, where they had some great titles, and then decided that the business model would be release frequently and release fast, lots of hype, generate revenue and bolt on micro transactions, mini games and all sorts of bloat that ultimately turned a lot of players from these games, they became unfinished garbage. I really hope Microsoft has not put the pressure on to create such a situation, because that would be a real shame, im all for genuine real features that add value, but is that what we are really getting here? It's not a bad idea to wait a week or so, unless you're prepared for the inevitable Early Adopter issues. I DON'T think anyone needs to wait months for a good experience. I waited a day for most of the dust to settle (because I knew it was going to be a car crash 😁). The sim is working well enough that I feel no urge to go back to v2020 at all.

Maybe you could tell people a little bit more about your hardware, so that they can get an idea about what to expect ? So far, all the feedback I've read about users say that the performance is globally equal or better than in MSFS, so I'm surprised to read your experience here. Probably there's one of the settings which is not set properly and eating your FPS for nothing ?
