Can 2020 and 2024 be ran at the same time?

Featured Replies

Seeing Microsoft did not give us an option to import anything from 2020 I want to run both sims at the same time so it will allow me to match my settings and control inputs. It would save me a lot of time having both open so 2024 will match my 2020 settings and not have to write down or screen grab everything.

Yes, they can run at the same time. I just tried it. Of course your computer is likely to bog down but if you are just sitting in the settings menu it's ok.

Oh I didn't even think to do this.  I've been taking pictures of my 2020 settings and doing it that way haha.

Haha...  Hey that works too!  I've actually bound a lot of keys to the same as I had in 2020.  I keep trying to use the arrow keys to move around the cockpit.  Default is Shift W A S D and Q E for up and down

I would screenshot my v2020 graphics, then turn them all the way down to minimum.

Depending on your rig, that'll keep v2024 running decently.

You could do dame with v2024, temporarily, too.

I did it on my system with two screens - easy setup. I wouldn't try flying both however.  🙂

I just tried this and I got an error message saying that I already had one MSFS running, so no luck it seems. This was on two separate PC's as well.

Yes, the first thing I did was to bootup both 2020 and 2024 at the same time. and view each on a different monitor. However my 2020 is steam, and my 2024 is Store. At any rate they both run at the same time, each on different monitors and I look at the old control settings in 2020 and move them to 2024 (I did this on day 1 first thing).

In the control options, choose keyboard,  then in the universal box bottom left, you can choose to use the old 2020 keyboard key default assignments, or the new 2024 default keyboard assignments. I use the old 2020 which I know. Heck with the 2024 default.
