MSFS Addons Linker 2020/2024 Released

Featured Replies

Summary: Essentially download and use the new EXE included in the folder

https://flightsim.to/file/1572/msfs-addons-linker

Recent Changelog 0.22.9088.40

Hello,

Here is a new little version :

[FIX] Several little fixes, for example the 'closing programs when MSFS stops' should now be improved

[NEW] In anticipation to tomorrow's release, added a new EXE in the distribution for MSFS2024

For MSFS2020 you don't need to change anything it will continue to work as it was before. If you want to use AL also for 2024, just create a new shortcut to the new EXE (MSFS_AddonsLinker_2024.exe). You will then be able to set your specific settings for 2024 (the community folder will be different). You can use the same source folders for both versions if the addons are compatible between the 2 versions to avoid duplicating files. Both versions can be run at the same time if needed (for example if you want to copy your settings).

Obviously this is very early and the 2024 version will be further finalized in the coming days when the sim is available if it requires more changes.

Thank you for your support and enjoy the new sim !

I'm testing it since yesterday. Everything seems to be as in FS2020, except CPU consumption - Addon Linker eats 15 - 25% of my CPU. How about you, can you check your utilisation?

Hello,

After the initial loading of your folders is done, Addons linker does nothing so the cpu should be at 0% and stay at 0%

If you have more information about this i would be glad to investigate, do you notice that everytime, is it only when you do a specific action ? I never had any report and never noticed anything like that so for me it's completely new 😱.

Thank you 🍻

When you say rename exe, do we copy and rename the original 2020.exe or is there another exe included that gets renamed?

No no you don't have to rename anything (both versions are different, i didnt say 'rename' anywhere ?). The new zip you can download from FS.TO contains the 2 EXE already and you just need to use the one you need (or both for some time if you have both sims, just make one shortcut for 2020 and one for 2024)

Thank you for the clarification. I'll be running both sims for awhile. That's why I asked.

I thought so it was doing nothing with CPU. I'm running MSFS24 via AL.

P.S. I've lunched FS2020 via AL and it eats 0% of my CPU. My problem is version for FS2024. Thank you.

Thank you @brosss i see that now, by launching msfs24 i can see the same thing.

Not sure yet why but, now that i can reproduce, I will check more in detail and will publish a fix ASAP, either by temporarily disabling the 'culprit' function or by fixing it if it's an easy fix.

thanks for the report ! 🍻

@brosss would you mind testing this EXE before i release it for everybody ?-> <EDIT link removed, a new official version will be uploaded to fs.to shortly with the new file>

Thank you 🍻

Downloading.

Edit: Fast start to FS2024 menu, now AL consumes 0% CPU. Great support, great program, thank you.

UPDATE: v0.26.9136.25

https://flightsim.to/file/1572/msfs-addons-linker

*HOTFIX* for the new 0.26 version released a few minutes ago .. sorry for double download if you downloaded v0.26 already.

Another little update based on requests/reports.

[NEW] New 'liveries browser' screen to view all your liveries sorted by aircraft in a single screen. The new screen is available in the menu 'Tools -> Liveries browser'. See here for more info -> https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/660899-addons-linker-liveries-browser-test

[NEW] You can now save lists of presets (new buttons 'save selection' / 'load selection' on the main preset selection screen). This might be useful if you frequently want select and apply the same list of presets. It could be seen as some sort of 'presets of presets'.

[IMPROVED] The 'content.xml editor' screen and 'icao checker' screens are not longer blocking the UI. You can keep them open and still use other parts of the tool.

[MINI] the shortcut for the dependencies viewer has been changed from SHIFT+D to F11 to prevent conflicts with other keyboard interactions

[FIX] Improved detection of streamed packages in the duplicate screen

[FIX] Several little fixes here and there

To update, just extract ALL files (this version includes a new dll) from the zip and replace your existing files.

Thank you as always for your feedback and ideas and to the nice people helping me with some tests.
