Why Report Errors?

Recommended Posts

Guest RichardL

Since it has been stated that there will be no additional fixes/patches/service packs for FSX, why do we continue to report errors via the automated reporting system? If nothing will be done with the information sent, why bother? On a different track, I have read many posts pointing to non-SDK designed aircraft causing errors and FSX terminating. If that is correct, how does one know what is a properly designed add-on aircraft? Some speak of FS9 "ports" to FSX and aircraft designed specifically for FSX through the SDK. How does someone know before purchasing or downloading, if freeware, how the aircraft was designed and if it will perform properly in FSX?Richard

I would also add that sometimes, crashes can be due to conflicts with other processes or device drivers. So it makes good sense to let that data be reported since there can always be O/S and driver updates... as long as the parties involved know there's a problem. It doesn't seem too much effort to click the button to report the error anyway...
