FSX Control Assignments

Recommended Posts

Hi:Yesterday, I set the buttons on my CH yoke in FSX for gear up and gear down. When I restarted FSX today those buttons don't work. How can I fix this problem? I also use FS9.Thanks!Airbus

FWIW even though I use the CHproducts yoke I don't think I can answer your question. However, CHproducts has an excellent forum which has provided me many answers. Right now I'm using their CH control manager to double the number of buttons/switches on the yoke. Really handy.

This is what I got off a forum, can't remember which nor the author, but you have to do these assignments in the Standard.XML file - works like a charm for me. Hope it helps.NigelVancouver**************************************************************This is what I pasted into my Standard.XML to get gear up/down functions assigned to buttons 4 and 5 respectively.- 4GEAR_UP- 5GEAR_DOWN- 6FLAPS_DECR- 7FLAPS_INCRButtons 6 and 7 should already look like this in your file.

How did you set the buttons? In FSX controls (no separate up and down possible I thought)Editing the xml file? Did it get overwritten later?Using FSUIPC? Using the Ch product mapper?

I found this long ago on the forum and tried it, and it worked, before many re-installs. I did add these lines today, but did not try it in FSX. It doesn't get overwritten later and doesn't use FSUIPC. I tried the CH Manager, but, well, am not bright enough.Regards,Jan1. Go to the FSX folder where your FSX.cfg resides.2. Open the Controls folder3. Open the Standard.XML file using notepad.4. Scroll down to almost the bottom until you find the heading and under it the label for CH FLIGHT SIM YOKE USB5. Replace the entry lines Index 6 and Index 7 with this:6GEAR_UP7GEAR_DOWN6. Save your changes.7. Load FS and you should now have to toggle up for gear up and toggle down for gear down.Jan
