Carenado C182 RG in 2024

Featured Replies

Just in case anyone is still following this thread, I tried the C182 RG with the MSFS2024 SU1 beta and it worked mostly so far. I was able to enable the plane in My Library which allowed me to fly it. With the Microsoft GNS 530 gps, the autopilot was a bit wonky in that it wouldn't allow me to select a VS and didn't show that it was on NAV mode. But for grins I enabled the TDS GTNXi 750 and everything seemed to work well. It shows as unsupported in My Library so I think the functionality is due to Asobo fixing things, not Carenado.

It works for me too, using the PMS50 GTN. Just have a problem with the landing lights and taxi lights not illuminating the ground. Autopilot and VS working fine.

There is still a lot that does not work in 2024.

I have no idea what happened to this whole backwards compatibility thing we were sold as peace offering after they told us they would support MSFS2020 for a long time. Then they spung the broke word not allowed x-box game on us 3 years in.

Nov. 19th was 106 days ago.  Still no Marketplace,  marketplace, addons don't download. Their own aircraft still don't work let alone ones we use from 3rd party developers.

I'm convinced the only people interested in flying in MSFS2024 are not big modders, maybe a jet and a hand full of airports if that.  For those of us who have spent thousands it's still a long way off from being fully useable and I haven't seenmuch improvment after SU1.

We still don't have an airspeed indicator needle on the the stock Zlin Shock ultra after 106 days.  I would really like to hear 3rd party developer converstations with Microsoft. I have no idea what is going on from watching the developer streams. Its all a bunch of wishlist word not allowed and CTD/Performance stuff.  They could fix a lot of this stuff in a few days.

Right now all my addons and aftermarket aircraft work perfectly and perform well in FS2020,  I keep checking on FS2024 hoping for some update but it never comes.

It's interesting you mention this aircraft it's one of my favs.  And yes in 2024 I have the same problems can't see some of the displays.  Useable, kind of.  Enjoyable, not really.  I don't think there is a fix.  in 3+ months FS2024 should be a lot further along with compatibility and fixes.

What displays can't you see? Can you post a screenshot so I can compare with mine?

I wish I could but I can't even get it to work at all anymore.  There was a point around January where they allowed the use of the Marketplace items.  The main one I couldn't see was the Auto pilot panel. You could see it but just barely and in a lot of situations it's barely readable.  A few weeks ago I tried to drag the folder into FS24 community and it just won't load now.  I'm going to have to nuke my FS2024 community and install and start over.  I have a lot of trouble launching a flight, I have too many troubles with the stock aircraft not fully loading in.  FS2024 is stall a mess.  Sometimes it works, sometimes it really doesn't. I'm not really going to mess around with FS24 anymore.  And the fact they can't even fix the Zlin Shock Ultras airspeed needle tells after 107 days tells me all I need to know about how broken FS24 really is. I don't expect our Carenado Marketplace Aircraft to fully work until the middle of the year or later at this rate. This SU 1 was extremely disappointing and shows just how far they have to go.
