November 23, 20241 yr You are now able to click anywhere on the globe in the free flight menu and rather being forced to start 1500 ft above ground you can choose to spawn on the ground in either a cold and dark or ready to taxi state. It allows a half way situation between full walkaround and starting on runway as you can click on an airport parking spot and choose ready to taxi state. Correction: you cannot click a marked parking spot but can choose a location nearby edit: by marked parking spot I mean the small white dots around an airport. You cannot choose the custom option I describe at these locations. Edited November 23, 20241 yr by boez Extra info
November 23, 20241 yr Cool, thanks for pointing this out! Spawning at an arbitrary location seems really useful for helicopters and bush flying.
November 23, 20241 yr Thank you very much for this information. Will give it a go as soon as I'm back at the computer again. This suggestion really would help me and others greatly. November 23, 20241 yr This info of the OP is unclear. Which map? The globe or tablet? What is a marked spot, you mean a labeled airport?

November 23, 20241 yr What they still haven't implemented is the toggle on the Heliports they wanted to change that has your helicopter spawn with running engines if you chose it as a starting point.

It will indeed locate you on the ground, however, the aircraft has its gear up and the nose pointing in a 45 degrees angle to the sky. At least it does this with the Airbus A321. Anyway, it was a nice find of yours, unfortunately it doesn't seem to work for me. (As many, many other features of this sim don't work for me 🙂 ) Kind regards, Hans van WIjhe Acer Predator P03-640 2.10 Ghz Intel 12th Gen Core 17-12700F 64GB memory, Noctua NH-U9S Cooler, 1.02 TB SSD HD, 1.02 TB HD, NVidia Geforce RTX 3070 16GB Memory, Windows 11 (x64)
November 23, 20241 yr Commercial Member I am using FStarter24 and can start anywhere at any airport, in Cold and Dark or ready to go.

Options available are: Airborne / on ground cold & dark / on ground ready to taxi Looks like a designed feature to me!
November 23, 20241 yr That's a great feature that removes one of the things that frustrated me in 2020. Ryzen 7 7800X3D/B650 X AX | 5090 | 32gig | Win10 | Pimax Crystal Light
