V1-Simulations rates Fenix higher than Toliss

Also an interesting comment that V1-Simulations made in "Comments" section of that Youtube video about MSFS 2024:

No no, the wind sucked in 2020. There was no inertia to aircraft and landing in crosswinds was straight wrong. This has changed in 2024, even to my unbelieving self, there has been significant FM changes in msfs2024

Good to see this has been improved in MSFS 2024.

I know V1 mentioned that about the 2024 ini default aircraft, assuming he also means the Fenix here?

The Fenix is an interesting case since it's the first (or one of the first) 3rd party airliners to have a 2024 specific version.. I don't believe Fenix outlined what changes if any they did to their FM or ground handling to take advantage of 2024 specific features.. but if improvements are being seen as V1 says above, then that could either be due to some changes that Fenix did do for 2024, or some changes/features in 2024 applying globally to aircraft even if aircraft devs haven't change/enhanced their FM specifically for 2024.

Well, there goes X-Plane's main advantage

Just got through watching his whole video, and ummm that was illuminating 🙂

He starts to do the final reviews and rating at the timestamped location in video below, and these were his scores:

                                              Toliss    Fenix
Acceleration                          10         10
Decel                                      7          10     (IRL is 66secs, Fenix is 64s, Toliss is 84secs)
Control input response          9          9.5    ("dang near perfect, Fenix feels more realistic .. Toliss feels like I'm constantly driving a truck")
Inertia in air                            9          9       ("both felt good")
Inertia on the ground             7          9       ("in MSFS 2020 it's a 7, a straight-up big difference")
X-wind physics in flight         8          9.5    ("Toliss is good but Fenix is more accurate")
X-wind physics touchdown   8          9.5    ("I was that impressed, did my natural inputs as in IRL and it behaved as in IRL")
X-wind physics on ground    6         9
X-wind physics roll-out         7          9        ("crosswind physics in 2024 is awesome")
-----
3D model                               5         10
Sounds                                   7         10
Textures                                 5          9.8
wings flap                              7          10
------
Total score w/o visuals        77%      94%
Total score w/ visuals          73%      95%

For a new sim in its initial days, and the Fenix in experimental stage with 2024 support... that is some result, kudos to both Asobo and Fenix.

Fenix is a badass company. They're #1 in the industry as far as I'm concerned.

Just posted a comment under his video, as, in my case, Fenix feels catastrophically bad on my end. It starts to roll way faster than Toliss, and it stops to roll abruptly, like a fight jet. No feel of inertial at all. It feels more like acrobatic plane.
Not sure what I'm missing. To make it feel more like an Airbus, I must set extreme deadzones to 0.5 (50%, half of the axis), not sure what else to do. Also, SDS option doesn't seem to add dampening at all too.

Current system: ASUS PRIME Z690-P D4, Intel 12900k, 32GB RAM @ 3600mhz, Zotac RTX 3090 Trinity, M2 SSD, Oculus Quest 2.

Just watched the video and read the rebuts by the reviewer in the comments, all seems pretty convincing to me.

X-Planers try to ex-plain (😂 pun intended) the results away to no avail…

True.

It's awesome that MSFS 2024 have these improvements, but I wish X-Plane was in a state to compete even better to the benefit of everyone.

Can we not provoke the usual gaggle of derailing goofs to come in here and cape for XP, please?

We can talk about the conclusions V1 reaches without needlessly baiting a response from XP users.

Who is exactly supposed to be the king? Many streamers still claim FS Labs is still the king with their Airbus series like Blackbox711. Its just ones opinion imo but V1 seems to have a bias towards Fenix like some others have a bias for FS Labs or Toliss and I am a Fenix fan and supporter but some people take this stuff way to serious as they are all entertainment products for different platforms. This is just silly talk. Just enjoy what you like and move  on with it.

In the Youtube comments, V1-Simulations said the Fenix "is the highest simulation of an Airbus series aircraft to date."

When asked to clarify if that even included the FSLabs in P3D, V1-Simulations said, "on p3d? Yes. But of all the options available now, I can’t imagine it is. I also haven’t flown it in several years, I’ll be interested to see what the bring to the table in msfs tho":

So for V1-Simulations, I suppose the "king" is Fenix.

Touché - my bad it was just funny reading the comments of the video on YT.

It is, it’s just a mild attempt at humor, which is really lacking in this forum… 🥸

The fenix is a wonderful add on that makes up 95% of my sim flying.  It’s a great company run by great guys who just know how to treat customers and have made one heck of a product.

V1 knows what he’s talking about so anyone here arguing otherwise is making a fool of themselves.

Other pilots with his experience flying Airbuses can certainly have different takes, but there's no doubt that he "did the work" so to speak here in drawing his conclusions.  He didn't just throw out some broad statements and leave it at that.

The new flight dynamics seem like a winner.  They just need to put in the work fixing all of the weird bugs and stuff that have quickly been unearthed.

It'll be interesting to see what FSL plan to do, to try and out-compete Fenix.
