Some streamers revised their opinion on MSFS 2024 for better

They are a joke.

As is the rest of your post.  Your last sentence for example - how does being a real pilot, flying the real aircraft, training in a professional sim and practicing emergency scenarios, give you the knowledge to instantly configure new MSFS2024 controls?  Watching real world pilots is a great way to understand the more complex airliners we have access to.

Seriously, one of the more bizarre posts I have read on here.

  • Most of these videos are just random click-bait, basically "shoot from the hips" videos to get views. Best is to ignore all of them, until the sim has matured.

  • A streamer / YouTuber says something negative about 2024: "Hah, I knew it! I shall now treat his word as gospel and repeat it everywhere I go" A streamer / YouTuber says something positive about

  • Generally, I feel like the opinions across the board are changing in a more positive direction already. As servers have settled down, people are getting things ironed out, controls set up, Fenix becam

They are a joke. What are they doing on YouTube? Apparently these so called pilots are either hard up for extra cash or looking for notoriety on YouTube.

They think they know something about flying so they try to tell US what is right and wrong with a game!

Seriously I think real professional pilots should stick to what they know best!

It's definitely not critiquing MSFS2024 on YouTube.

I for one wouldn't waste a lick of time watching these so called experts!

If they can't figure out how to setup controls in MSFS2024 what does it say about there ability to troubleshoot a real problem in a real flight?

That's interesting. I agree that some claims are absurd and don't align with a real pilot's perspective. Some RW pilots get involved in evaluating airplanes that they have never had a chance to fly. They give the wrong evaluation because they are unfamiliar with the flows, systems, and real-world operations.

You're mistaken when you say, "They believe they understand flying, so they attempt to tell the US what is right and wrong with a game!"

A PC gamer, developer, or programmer should carefully consider input from "real pilots." There is a significant disconnect, which poses a major problem: Many gamers, developers, and programmers lack hands-on experience in real flying, unlike airline pilots, who have extensive experience flying around the world in various weather conditions and utilizing flight simulators almost every six months. This limited real-flying experience is often disappointing, especially when these individuals engage in arguments instead of gathering as much information as possible to improve their products.

You show a lot of disrespect for many people regarding the unfriendly settings in the control setup of MSFS2024. In comparison, MSFS2020 had one of the best settings in this regard, and if I'm not mistaken, very few people experienced issues with it.

That's going too much in the other direction.

There are plenty of RW-pilots who provide exceptional instructional videos.

Thing is, a video titled "How to fly an Rnav approach" just isn't clickbaity enough for the Youtube algorithm. Hence, you have to entitle it: OMIGOD REALWORLD PILOT FLIES THE A321 IN MSFS 2024 AND IT ABSOLUTELY SUCKS!!!!!!!!! or something along those lines.

I agree with your last point, though: I find the GUI to be very easy to get a handle on, and the new control scheme is very powerful, once you get the hang of it.

You are referring to MSFS 2020's flight model as you haven't tried MSFS 2024 yet, right?

Yeah for the most part. I spent some time visiting my father this holiday, which he has 2024. Gave it a spin for about an hour or so. And like I said, it’s not super bad, but it’s also not super good either.

I never trust the so called "real life pilots", they are beginners when talking about a flight sim. Just an expert flight simmer can understand the potential of a new sim. Since day one I tried al the FS24 liners and I found a very good potential, they need to be improved, but very enjoyable and close to a studio level paid software.

We shouldn't implicitly trust anyone.

But in this case, the guy is not only an IRL Airbus Captain, but also an avid flight simmer for many years and across at least 4 flight sims.

Nearly all of his reviews are Cold/Dark to Cold/Dark, with representative flight plans, etc.

He ALWAYS delivers reasoned and well balanced constructive criticism. He's earned a great deal of trust in re evaluating flight sim addons.

Obviously he made some errors with his initial review (I haven't watched either of them yet), but he owned it and made a follow up video to clear things up.

In other words, he's human, and therefore fallible. But since he's an adult, he has no problem admitting it. 🙂

Not a huge fan of IntotheBlue. He’s usually very thorough, but he is prone to some howlers like in this situation not being aware of the plane’s weight or engine specs?! Also his style is a bit flat. Don’t think I’ve ever heard him make a joke.

Never mind streamers changing their opinion, it's the vast number of users who've reviewed it badly that'll hurt MS/Asobo. Whilst Steam Reviews have gone "up" to Mixed, MS Store averages at 1.7 out of 5 stars and today it got another 1* scathing review from yours truly, if they ever sort the many VR issues out I'll up the stars and change the review, until then they are at the mercy of what they've given us and that IMO is a largely broken product, just go read the hundreds & hundreds of bug reports on the official forum. (yes before you say it every title has bugs, no title is perfect yadda yadda yadda, this is an exemption though).

I've never ever bought a new game and put it down a little over a week later because it's so bad in certain areas (Early Access titles not included as they had the decency to state what they were at purchase), Cyberpunk77 wasn't this bad, hell even MSFS2020 wasn't as it was "new" and "fresh" so you sort of forgave them for the bugs & issues, not this time though, VR is a dumpster fire in MSFS24.

Am I annoyed? Yes, yes I am. Will i get refund, no, no I won't as for some reason there's a little voice saying "....but what if Asobo did pay VR attention and fix the mess they've created? then it'd be a great simulation...", my fingers are firmly crossed, until then this title gathers dust in my virtual library and I'm gonna be enjoying my time elsewhere for the time being - hopefully not for long, we shall see what the next two updates actually fix.

Seriously?
what is the problem you are having with VR?

At minimum this early in it works as good as it did in MSFS 2020 on my setup.

curious what your issues are?

If it were up to most of these influencers we would still be with Fenix V1 and the horrible flight model of 2020.

I'm not gonna list them again, go read the official VR bug forums and see for yourself.

While some IRL pilots might be manipulating their content for clicks, I find it ludicrous to claim that "long-time simmers" who have never flown an aircraft in real life would have a better grasp over whether a specific FS aircraft performs in a realistic manner than someone who actually handles that particular aircraft day in and day out.

Would not surprise me in the slightest of any “content creator” that has suddenly flipped their opinion sans any real patches yet from Asobo more than likely got something for that from Jorg.

It really is a shame, because I can see the core of the product is a step forward but really just so many things get in the way of a good flight.  Just tonight I thought I would check out the CJ4 and right off the bat the external livery is flickering like a bulb burning out, so immersion breaking. Then when I was starting it there are no engine indicators in dispatch mode, even though I can hear the engines spooling. And, I thought to test this out on a remote airstrip in the Pacific and wouldn't you know it, 5 -- count them 5 -- ground personnel were walking around my plane ready to help! They are all tiny things, they will all get fixed, but there are so, so many of them!
