MSFS Map Enhancement

Doesn't using this remove relief from the ground textures?

  • Beautiful pics. We really need separate forums for 2024 & 2020. Mods this is getting ridiculous.

Nice pics! I remember there was a certain person last year, who kept coming to the MSFS forums here, and kept ranting about the "pebbles, pebbles, and pebbles" on the MSFS 2024 presentation and d

and how much time. knowledge, frustration & effort required by each individual who only wanted to fly a flight simulator, not learn the nitty-gritty details of a DIY scenery development kit?

we owe it to Joerg Neumann's broad and farsighted approach to this hobby. instead of focusing on his private priorities and only on the university doctorate study-level niche aspects, he created a sim for everybody - from total beginners to GA enthusiasts to airline wannabe captains. that's why they earned the funds and can afford to develop this most expensive to create, most fantastic simulator, and ultimately outsold any other flight simulator.

Umm...WHAT???

Installing addons in X-Plane is exactly the same as in MSFS.

And there are LEGIONS of complaints re MSFS in re addon conflicts, not to mention issues with scenery as a service into v2020.

Let us not forget that the previous MS title, FSX, was similarly challenged. And it's next gen follow on the same.

X-Plane ground scenery doesn't look great, relative to the current Number One, but as a flight sim it's utterly dead simple to get up and going - even "for everybody".

Nice screenshots 👌

Unfortunately I will never see them as I am a 738 flyer…

Enjoy

It's like saying I will never use the word never. 🙂

Yeah, I simply can't go back to MSFS 2020 Land either, but that's because MSFS 2020 no longer loads.

I'm going to go on record and predict that XP 13 won't look as good graphically, especially at the ground level, as MSFS 2024.  It's possible that XP 13 catches up with MSFS 2024 graphically, but IMO, unlikely.

I believe XP uses computer-drawn artificial scenery exclusively, which is simply not comparable to the satellite-streamed real-world imagery employed by MSFS2020 and 2024. Unless that changes (which XP's owner has said will never happen), no "catching-up" is possible.

All I see when I click on "spacer.png" is a black screen with a small broken picture symbol in the middle 🤷‍♂️

Yes, but there are apps which allows satellite imagery to be used by XPlane. I personally wouldn't go back to XPlane12 now that 2024 has been released, but the option is available.

v2020 is a dead man walking.

The King is dead. Long live the King!

Not for me, and so this i just nonsens, at least for the next 6 to 12 month.

Shure MSFS2024 will be the winner, that is logical, but not yet, there is still a long way to go, and to say for my kind of flying MSFS2020 is Top Forefront because everything is ready, i jump in my airliner and fly my Route witout any issues - can you do that with MSFS2024, i think not..

And that's the most important thing for me at the moment, namely that the Simulator really works and MSFS2020 does that, but MSFS2024 doesn't. I'll see you guys maybe in half a year or even a year, so have fun with MSFS2024 ! 🥳

cheers 😊

I agree.   Visually it is not leaps and bounds ahead of 2020 to warrant the streaming issues.  So I am happy with 2020 for now until they have a few patches.

You can - I’ve done quite a few flights in the Fenix A32x and inibuild’s A321 and A330. It works without any issues.
