Simply astounding, the quality and level of details in FS 2024... There's no way in heck XP is going to make the quantum leap necessary to come to par on scenery - at least not any time in the near future. That said, I've been spending some time in XP (mainly to disprove the trollers who like to come in here and talk smack), but also to enjoy a few favored addons like the JRX Bell 407 and the new JF Piper Arrow III with REP, and my comfy FF 757 (all of which are substantially better than their counterparts in MSFS). Combine top shelf addons like those with some TrueEarth scenery and it still makes for a quite satisfying experience. Same thing with DCS World: there's simply no experience like it in MSFS, and the modules/addons there generally have no peers in MSFS/XP/P3D/FSX (even the HeatBlur F-14 can't match the HeatBlur F-14 across the two sims). That said, v2024 is an astounding achievement and in many ways provides exactly what I've been dreaming of for a flight sim experience for literally decades. 🙂 And that's as it stands NOW, with all the "problems". I can hardly wait to see how good MSFS will get as time goes on. 😎

I just bought a brand new 4TB NVME to help me hold scenery for all my other sims. That said, the MSFS addons are quite "chunky", too - the IFT/HB F-14 is 8GB, FSR500 is 12GB, etc., and IIRC the iB A300 is pushing 14GB. Not to mention following Asobo's advice to allocate a significantly more space to the cache drive for MSFS. So, even v2024 will easily pork back up to hundreds of GBs, esp for those of us who really like lots of nice airports and pretty planes. 🙂 Still, as long as you've got a solid internet connection, v2024 is quite a cost-effective sim. 🙂

As if they actually graded and paved where the asphalt is and not the surrounding terrain. November 30, 20241 yr Yup, the new sim runs great. I haven't started MSFS2020 since I got it. Not out of principle or anything, just haven't felt the need to. With Jörg's promise of 99.999% streaming reliability, things are looking good. And to be honest, I haven't had any issues with this for a few days now. Can't remember how long. Been installing more and more payware airports as they are updated (Orbx Central, iniManager, Aerosoft One, Contrail, SimMarket) + tested a variety of other addons (they work): FSHud v2 AIG models Fenix A32x Bijan Seasons 2024 RealTurb MSFS Map Enhancement ..and probably a few more Edited November 30, 20241 yr by Cpt_Piett 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5
