Cloud height question

Recommended Posts

If I go to customize weather and set a single cloud layer to be, say 30,000 feet in vertical extent, with a base at 1000' agl, the clouds always top out at 10,000 on my system. Does anybody know why this might be the case? Thanks so much.

Seems to depend on cloud type:Cumulus, for example, top out at 10K, while Cirrus bottom's out at about 15K. Not sure if this is configurable.

I suspected this was the case. Thank you for your helpful reply.
