I think the way to test would be to delete your current.  .CCC then load into a remote airport with say a 152, and keep repeating that process to test - same airport and aircraft. You would think that loading times would be very fast with no texture load delays or popping.

That's exactly what I'm seeing. The C172 I flew often in the career already but other aircraft, that I have never flown before there it can take some time until all the gauges are streamed.

I use the Map Enhancement as well. I don't think I have to delete the rolling cache EVERY TIME I start the Sim using ME. Since ME completely block default Bing imaginary there are no any tiles of it in cache. But some cached planes etc.

How long does it take for you to start the Sim when it recreates 100GB cache file?

It was mentioned on the last livestream that the cache is storing around 80% of data downloaded at the moment and that the patch due this week is supposed to address this problem.

The way I understood what Seb was saying is that the cache is storing 80% of incoming data but discarding about 20%. It was in response to a user question. I don't have a time stamp to the section of the video unfortunately.

The 80% is the hit ratio for the cache. On average, among 100% of requested data, 80% are yet found in the local rolling cache that doesn't required Internet bandwidth. 20% are needed to be downloaded.

I don't think that. I know it. Asobo confirmed it. For 2 of the 3 you mention already in MSFS 2020 actually. Back in 2020 they mentioned the number of trees globally, that they found.

The placement of the ground materials is not arbitrary. It receives your sim via offline AI processing (image recognition), storage, streaming, rendering. Do you see how you got it wrong? There is a lot new data involved. Not very profound from an IT professional to think it could work any other way.

Not going over the rest of your comment, but I will say that the loading times on MSFS 24 are MUCH faster than 2020, on my system. I have a 300 GB cache, but regardless of whether something is cached or not (brand new plane, brand new location), I can consistently go from clicking fly now to being in the cockpit in ~90-120 seconds. MSFS 2020 was easily twice or even three times longer (vanilla sim, no adding), sometimes much more if I had some detailed airport or scenery addons in that area. 

I have a 1Gbps fibre connection and am located in Toronto, and after day 3/4 I've had no issues with streaming. The bugs in the game are still there, of course, but I don't have issues with scenery loads, aircraft loading and so on. 

The quick load times in fact make me fly more. I can shut down a flight and be in a new plane in a new part of the world in 2 min, which is something that 2020 just cannot do. It takes a long time (5+ minutes at least) and that really does matter.

I just timed it and it's even faster than I thought. 

I loaded a plane (Dreamlifter, haven't tried it even once yet) into a random airport in Brazil. That took 115 seconds from clicking Start Flight on the Map page to being in the cockpit. Then, I clicked "End Flight" and pressed start on my stopwatch as I did that. Went back to the Map page, chose a brand new aircraft again (Chinook, never tried it) and another brand new location (Entebbe), and was in the cockpit ready to fly (with all textures correctly loaded, no popping issues) in 45 seconds! 

I've been very pleased with this aspect of the new sim and it makes my flying time that much more fun and pleasurable. 

And yes, bugs are there - the Dreamlifter seems to have an issue with LOD where it constantly drops to a lower LOD in the exterior model. But the interior works great. But this isn't a loading/streaming issue, I saw that 320SimPilot has the exact same issue with the Dreamlifter, and it's a consistent bug.

I am the OP who asked the question. On page 2 I think Paolo Jackson answered it. In his post where the first line was "To get back to the original question, I did a quick test."

He had 8 Mbp/s speed. He increased his cache to 96GB. And then loaded up a flight. It took 7:18. Next he went back to main menu and loaded the same flight. It took 1:10 because every thing was put into the cache on the first flight start. He said he did not used to get that sort of fabulous speed before increasing the cache.

I suppose the slower your internet (plus latency to the CDN) , the more you’ll see the benefits of the cache.

As a goofball, I tested with 4gb cache and also didnt see or feel a difference. 

Then I realized I was eating a vegan ice cream sandwich in the middle of a walmart and was having an existential crisis.
