REPORTED: FSL Has Just Released Their a321 For MSFS2020

Featured Replies

The tribalism about one product v another is positively hilarious.

Does anyone see how silly it looks?

  • As someone who flies the A320 family IRL, worked with Fenix, and also was privileged enough to be given a pre-release copy of FSL to stream, i can give a somewhat balanced view/opinion. Firstly,

I do not have this bus but suspect she might be performance heavy, as FSL planes usually are - any info from early purchasers ?

But, wait, does this really use the legacy flight model? Is there any other aircraft that uses that? Does it even exist in 2024?

Where on earth did you get that information from?

On par with fenix or pmdg for that matter.

Just open their flight_model.cfg…

I was really dissapointed with the AVSIM mods for removing that thread with a video from Easyjetsimpilot about the incident. People should know, this shouldn't just be an "oh well lets move on" situation when it gets covered by international tech news. How these guys managed to survive as a business afterwards is baffling.

Yep that was my thread. They (the AVSIM mods) did so without any message or notification to me. They also did not respond to my report where I asked for clarification. Very suspect, almost as if someone forced them to do it… FSElite can tell you about it.

Yes, I wanted to respond to your post with that linked video from EasyjetSimpilot named"The FSLabs Story - *What Happened* - A Turbulent History " and was quite shocked that AVSIM deleted it without further comment.

Thats cencorship at it's best! Could't imagine what else here disappears.

The video does not contain any rumours or lies. It's just about FsLabs history with installing malware and other potentially dangerous software on customers PCs. And how FsLabs wanted to use lawyers to force negative reporting, from e.g. FSElite, to remove it.

Yes and Easyjetsimpilot was also really fair and positive towards FSL overall. He could have worded that very differently, and rightly so, but did stay rather neutral.
The most shocking thing for me was that FSL tried to force FSElite to give out the personal data of the persons criticising FSL on the FSElite comments. That‘s the worst, by far. Let‘s see  if someone asks Avsim for my personal data in the near future 😄

What? This is insane, not only they spread Malware, lied about it, blocked us from their forums for questioning their attitude (after that incident, I stopped using Chrome passwords and just using LastPass) and now they want the private info of the users who criticized them in the comments!! New level.

Well, 8 pages in and I’ve learned nothing about the plane. I genuinely don’t care if you like Fenix more..or if FSL has a bit of a shady past. I don’t care about what “service based failures” means. What I care about is how the plane performs, feature execution, and things different that what we’ve seen in other products thus far.

Personally, from advertisements, I’ll probably pick this up, because it’s the first plane in the sim (that I’ve seen) to do things I should care about as a pilot. The deice/anti ice thing sold me.

Sadly enough, long gone are the days when you actually could have learned something on these boards.

You can find, however , some videos on the net that demonstrate those features and the addon in general.

8 pages in and only one post with anything remotely resembling a summary on the actual product. I’ll probably pick it up to see how it fares and report back.

I totally agree with you guys.
As soon as we talk about FSLabs some people feel compelled to come and repeat the same stories, rumors and legends that they have been repeating for 10 years.
There are even some who criticize FSLabs even though they have never bought any of their products. Just out of imitation or to be accepted by others.
Personally I don't give a word not allowed about all these stories and I would like to be able to read reviews on this new Airbus, on its complexity, its level of realism, its behavior in flight etc ..., without having to put up with the liters of bile poured out by people filled with resentment.
I only bought one product from FSLabs, it was the A320X for P3D, and I loved this plane.
I have a lot of respect for these developers who work hard to push the limits of a flight simulator for PC to bring it as close as possible to reality.
This is the case with FSLabs, as with Fenix, and I am very happy that both exist.
As we say back home, “you always need two grocers in the same village”.

There is a topic on the FSL forum discussing legacy vs native controls in MSFS - flipping cockpit switches, etc.

Maybve someone got confused.

Perhaps. But even if we’ll assume, for argument’s sake, that it uses some “other” method for its flight modeling. Then I fail to see the relevance as long as it correctly represents the aircraft’s characteristics (and vica versa)

Like it or not, this is part of the conversation. A huge part, that made news outside of the flight sim world like nothing did since. And they did this to themselves, and made it even worse through sheer incompetence and mishandling of the situation. If you want to chat about the plane by all means. Personally I think it's a good alternative to Fenix, or Toliss, or any other high fidelity addon. But! There will always be a but here.

It's a bit like trying to talk about OJ's career in the field, without - you know - that whole thing.

It's telling of the flight sim community in the past that this was overlooked and allowed to go pretty much unpunished. I'd like to think these days the hobby has matured, what with the sheer popularity of MSFS.
Perhaps if it happened today, you'd have MS or Asobo stepping in to shut things down right quick. After all, they wouldn't want a dev going rogue like that. Now there's food for thought.
