Porting Fs2020 aircraft mods to FS2024

I don't think so for ported over aircraft from FS2020. The file structure should be virtually the same as FS2020 and that was the whole point of Asobo setting up an import folder (named "Official2020") plus a community folder for placing the mods.

Sorry, thought it was a native fs24 mod...yes, fs20 imports are the same, my boeing 707 repaint works unchanged.

Wait (!!) ... so I should be placing imported liveries into "Official2020" and not my regular Community Folder?

NO... only airplanes that came from the 2020 Official folder.  Not addons.

I believe the current version of 2024 is buggy and inconsistent regarding naming and showing variants and liveries.  Going through my airplanes I can find no set of naming conventions that would explain what I see in the aircraft selection menus.  Even Carenado seems to be caught in this morass, with several of their aircraft listed as variants of other aircraft..

The only consistent feature seems to be an offer to purchase additional liveries as the last item shown..

I have a new mod for the Diamond DA62, originally made for FS2020 but not yet published. I've managed to get it working (pretty well) in FS2024. The only glitch appears to be that it will only load ONE livery out of the many I made. Does anyone have any experience of a similar thing or indeed any info about why that should be. Oddly FS2024 is allowing only the use of the 2nd livery, not the first. I looked through each aircraft cfg fight.sim entry and except for the livery names and texture numbering the entries are identical.

Unfortunately I'm not certain either.  Some of my liveries I added to my new 2024 community folder are under Variations now instead of liveries (in the sim I mean).  Sometimes I'll even find a totally different aircraft under a variation of another.  Example, under the Carenado C170B, there's a bunch of other carenado planes haha.

What a goat rope

My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL |
| Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

Well, for some reason my Bonanza Turbo mod works absolutely fine with all the correct liveries showing up. But my DA62 mod just shows one random livery out of around 17. Yet both aircraft configs are set up in a similar way. This randomness is most odd. Theoretically a ported over aircraft from FS2020 should work exactly as it did originally.

Are they found under a different aircraft?  I saw some chatter about these issues at the main forums.  Someone had mentioned if the aircraft.cfg doesn't have an icao line things could go awry.  I'll see if I can find that thread.

Yes I made sure there is an icao line in the aircraft cfg. I might have missed one entry that is vital and I'm combing through each entry to try and spot what is going wrong!

Just for clarity on my end - this entire thing shows up fine in 2020?

Not sure if you have seen these posts over at dev forum - hopefully they help.

I think these posts illustrate that none of the developers understand what is currently happening and are frustrated in the extreme..
