I miss those guys. Sometimes it was cool to pull up to a spot and be directed to line up. I once landed at KJPX IRL. and there was a guy directing us to spot. Actually the tower controller was funny...he said, "can you folks hold on a minute, I'm a little busy right now" in an very informal way.

I never understood why there were some marshals in random airports and not in others in 2020.

I've been wondering this very thing. Where are the marshalls?

Yes I miss them too. I hope they return from vacation soon. 

I live way out in the bush, it's farming country, and my local airport gets very little traffic, so there is never a marshall there. I see crop dusters there quite frequently, but any arrivals have to sort it out between them.

Mashallers disappeared and also, in some cases, all the airport ground personnel.

It's pathetic to land at a big or medium size airport and see no one!
