external model very messed up...

Recommended Posts

Hey all.I have had FSX installed for a while now, but never really used it. I have had this problem, so I searched & searched, didnt find anything, and went back to FS9. Now I want to pick up FSX, and I still have the problem, so anyone have any ideas?http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/186579.jpgThnks in advance.Oh, sorry if this is not the right forum, I read the sticky, but I am not sure where else to put it, since it pertains directly to FSX & whatever might be causing this prob.

Go to MS FSX Forum, page 7, and then read all the posts in : ~aircrafts model "Double trouble"~ topic ! _______________________________

well, I didn't get a chance to post before having to head to work, but that did not correct my problem. All of the solutions listed in that thread were not really applicable, because I am having the issue with the default models, and they have both of the solutions already included, by default. So, I am in the process of reinstalling, and will see if that corrects this, and post back in case anyone else is experiencing similar issues.

reinstall fixed it. I am downloading patches now to install them, and assuming nothing fails or breaks during patching, I am good to go.thanks

Thanks Larry,I had exactly the same problem as you and I think it was caused by reinstalling over the top of an existing FSX installation after rebuilding my Vista based notebook.I will also try to reinstall FSX but into a new directory this time rather than over the top of the old installation. I think that's where the textures get confused.

if it helps any, I just patched up to SP2 late last night, and am still good to go.I uninstalled through add/remove programs, then deleted the FSX folder (my install is F:FSX), rebooted, then reinstalled into the same directory, after a defrag.I am now working well.Hope that helps.
