Best freeware for FSx?

Recommended Posts

It is time for me to change over to FSx. But I have some incredible FS2004 freeware that it will be hard to abandon - so I guess I will slowly have to ascertain what is transferable to FSxThere truely has been some remarkable freeware for FS 2004 - stuff that it was hard to believe that it was freeware. The pick of the best!I know that FSx has a long way to go to mature to the stage of FS2004 -- but what are the best freeware offerings so far. Not just good - but very good?Over to you for advice Thanks Barry

One thing you can do is go to the File Library, browse an FSX category, then sort by downloads. That shows you the most popular freeware (by AVSIM downloads) for each freeware category.

If I'm going to use freeware its got to be payware quality, and the best freeware aircraft I've ever seen is this one:http://www.neoqb.com/fokker/As to scenery I also use Holgers Bella Coola Valley, which is available in the avsim library, and if you fly is Australia there will be some nice freeware files at the FTX site, which is the maker of the best scenery addon currently available for FSX...http://www.ftxnow.com/freeware

If the Fokker Dr-1 appeals to you, you may want to check this out....http://library.avsim.net/search.php?Search...fsxac&Go=SearchOne of the first freeware native FSX aircraft, the Bristol was freeware aircraft of the month and featured in a one page review of the May/June edition of PC Pilot and also again in an article in PC Pilot's winter special, on freeware aircraft.

Get the Ifly 747, it's payware quality. Hard on the frames though.

You can do the same thing just by holding down the space bar and using the mouse and mouse wheel.
