This review perfectly sums up MSFS 2024

What we have here is not people seeing the same thing in 2024 and coming to different conclusions about what they see. It should be very obvious by now that people are seeing entirely different levels of stability and performance in the same sim.

Not sure why anyone here should not support MSFS2024. If it fails, the franchise is dead again.

At least for some of you I would not feel sorry for a second.

I have to say, when 2024 works it's stunning. As a mainly Fenix flyer, luckily most of the bugs in this video I don;t encounter. Since I upgraded my router the texture lag has all but gone. Flying up from KMIA north to Orlando visually this thing is really good looking.

I would think everybody saw the release as a train wreck.  It is just the reaction that differs.  Stay chilled and load up 2020 if 2024 isn't working for you.

For decades I have purchased new versions of MSFS and seen the bugs in the early days, so it just doesn't seem to be a major problem for me.  I 100% know 2024 and the addons for it will improve over time.

For real? I was born a Brummie and Magic Roundabout was the snikker joke at school. No way he's nearly 90?! "beep off Florence said Dylan".. That's a 50yo memory!

I abandoned the career mode early on; I have not even flown a mission. I will likely never return to it but it is not really how I use a flight simulator so it does not matter to me; I only use free flight

On a positive note, over the past few days I have had a good run of flights in the COWS 42 that have been spectacular.

The video it right. It needed "career mode" to survive in todays marketplace. Otherwise the sim enthusiasts just won't bring revenue. Fortunately I have a career and don't dream of another one.

I can’t get my cows 42 to show up in the Sim ☹️

Come on, be honest:

- Are you not experiencing the error accessing online traffic popup even when traffic is working?

- Are you not experiencing freezing when returning to main menu after flying with inibuilds planes?

- Doesn't your game crash when you try to change the livery of an airplane when previously you have used a different version of the airplane (for example after a flight with the passenger version of the 737 Max, if you reload the game and change the livery, it will crash because business jet is now the default but passenger plane liveries can be selected)

- Are you not seeing liveries, aircraft parts, ground vehicles, parked cars etc. pop up when you approach them or rotate your view?

- Are you not seeing blurred terrain and slow downloading of textures and PG even though your line speed is much more than recommended by MS?

- Isn't your ATC window showing random positions in the comm history instead of the last communication?

- Are you not experiencing mission breaking bugs in career mode? Everything works fine??

- Are you not experiencing drastically lower framerates than MSFS even though Asobo declared that they improved multithreading and we could expect better performance?

...

These are only a few issues of many, many more present in the game, that are seen by thousands of people and well documented here and on the official forums.

How can you say that people are seeing "entirely different levels of stability and performance"? Let's say that the experience can range from frustrating to entirely broken by the bugs.

I want to thank you all for your comments on this video. This is Reggie from Cockney Gamer! I was looking at  the analytics as the video blew up in a 24 hour period (by my standards!) and I saw that there were two external sources driving a bit of this traffic, that being the Flight Simulator website and here. So I signed up to thank you all for taking the time to review it and also address some points.

Clickbait title/thumbnail = You know, this is the bit that I hate about YouTube. I agree with you all here. It sucks major donkey d**k, but sadly, you have to dance with the devil. Fun fact, in the first 24 hours of the video it was performing badly (a few hundred views max) and so I changed my title and boom, people clicked on it. I can’t defend the style of it and I myself hate that it has to be this way but sadly YouTube has forced this approach and the human psyche is what it is I’m afraid. However, ALWAYS I make the content of the video as balanced as I can and I think most of you saw that so thank you for staying to the end!

Too harsh on developers/game = another fun fact… I paid for the Aviator edition out of my own money. My channel makes around $100 a month, barely enough to pay for my Adobe subscription, the games I review and the music license I pay for (usually I run the channel at a loss). I share that because I am, like you, a fully paid customer and didn’t get it for free or had some ulterior motive. I’m just a bloke that likes to fly. Like you I’m a “simmer”, (albeit a terrible one) and so I do feel let down by Asobo. Not bashing individuals or what people do for a living, but just like I work and you work hard to make money, I’ve invested my own cash in what I feel is a broken game right now. If they released it as a beta, and framed it in a way that we were supporting the journey with them, I’d have still handed my cash over but without the frustration and anger I feel right now.  I’m convinced the game will get there, but as of December 2024,  it’s a travesty that they charge what they charge for the state of the game and release it as 1.0 with a straight face.

Style of video  = I appreciate it comes across maybe a bit childish for some. Too much innuendo perhaps. Jokes that are a little close to the bone (I got complaints on the 737 max line). However, that is the style of the channel and for every person that loves it, I know a person will hate it. I always wanted a channel that gave honest, balanced reviews whilst still having a little banter and fun along the way. It’s not a channel dedicated to flight simming (I try and review everything) but there is a focus on simulation games in general I’d say. I didn’t see enough channels out there like that based on this genre that gives an adult humorous take, so I thought “sod it, why not give it a go myself?”. So far it’s been a fun journey and I get it’s not for everyone, but for sure there are hundreds of channels out there which are far more down the line in how things are presented and dare I say, have a very different view to mine. As I say to everyone, watch 5 videos created by people from all aspects of life to help make up your mind on a game. Your opinion matters way more than mine.

The most important thing to say though is to thank the people who clicked it and shared their opinion. You guys rock. Whether you support the views you watched or are critical of it, honestly that’s music to my ears. I can’t put my views out in public and expect them to not be criticised. That was my choice and I’ve learnt to accept criticism as positively as I can. I’m a 40 year old bloke, with a full time job, wife and kids and so this is my little escape from bedlam. So I really appreciate you clicking and watching, and I loved reading all the comments along the way.

Cheers, Reggie (Cockney Gamer) xxx

It's going to be fantastic once it's out of Alpha. Just your typical modern AAA game release... saw it coming.
