Ah great. This makes my navigraph subscription worth it once again.

Just note that there is currently a bug in the latest Navigraph Hub v 1.2.13.0.

When you run the Hub, it writes information to your content.xml (to prioritise the Navigraph AIRAC data above the default data), but it also deletes all other contents of that file.

The result is that any library items that you have enabled or disabled from within MSFS will be messed up and you will have to go through that process again. Recommend that you back up your content.xml before trying the Navigraph data.

Navigraph is aware of the bug and will be issuing an update for Hub soon.

Side note: it's amazing how many companies these days seem to have basic bugs that would have taken five minutes to find - this isn't an esoteric bug, after all.

Asobo/MS are another case in point. 

Just an overall decline in software quality.

How is this different from previously? Is Jeppesen navdata more accurate? What navdata source did Navigraph use previously?

As somebody who does not fly tube-liners, could somebody be kind enough to explain to me what the value proposition of this is for MSFS 2024? Is navigraph only for folks who fly the "study level" airliners, who need the latest data? And how much more current is it than what comes with MSFS 2024?

I could understand this a bit more in 2020, when Navigraph provided Jeppesen charts for the entire world, which was much more convenient than shuffling PDFs, tracking them down, etc.

But now, MSFS 2024 has in-game EFB charts. The entire world is modeled by default with proper airports, navaids, etc.

So, aside from being able to use the Jeppesen charts instead of the default charts that come with the game, what value is there in replacing the default data with the Navigraph data?

Please note, that I am not trying to dissuade anybody, I simply would like to understand. If you can explain to me why somebody would need this in 2024, I would love an explanation.

I’ve been using Navigraph for years, before MSFS2020. But I’d also like to hear input regarding how useful it is now that we have a flight planner with the sim.

But - what I appreciate the most with my Navigraph subscription: Navigraph Charts is extremely detailed and comprehensive. Use it with every flight, GA or airlines, both the PC app and the tablet version

I think it's the same as before but now just supports 2024.

One thing I like is to power charts on one my 2nd or 3rd monitor.  I find using the in sim windows to be a real distraction

None. For me anyway. MSFS2024 uses a new navdata provider and it equals (or even surpasses, so I am told) Navigraph's navdata. The only reason you might consider getting a subscription is if you use SimBrief as your planner or if an addon plane depends on it. Without a subscription you will be using old navdata in a year or two and that may give you problems with certain plans.

However, I did some tests yesterday and planned a few flights in SB with an AIRAC from May 2022 and the first five flights were exactly the same with the current AIRAC: the 6th flight had a few problems (changed airway names and a changed STAR) but nothing BATC and hence MSFS2024 couldn't handle. So even without a subscription I'll be fine with using SB anyway.

I'm done with Navigraph, that's for sure.

In MSFS2024 you can view the charts on another PC or your smartphone or anything that has access to a browser and the internet.

My understanding is that the in-sim Lido charts don't cover as many airports, either just in the US, or worldwide as Jeppeson does.....

MSFS 2024 has both LIDO and FAA charts available, which covers the entire United States. So, although LIDO does not have KGRI, the FAA charts do. I just checked the sim and KGRI charts are available in the EFB. You just have to switch from LIDO to FAA at the bottom of the EFB chart page.

Yeah, but what about the "world wide part". It appears that Lido doesn't cover smaller airports like EDAZ Schönhagen close to Berlin, Germany. 

It's one of my "practice airports" and Navigraph has the chart for the RNP approach to runway 25 available. 

The worldwide availability of charts is really what's making me keep my Navigraph subscription. 

There other apps I'm not really interested in.
