Five Reasons to Keep the MSFS2024 Glass Half Filled

Featured Replies

Time to balance the stream of negative attitude threads!

Microsoft Flight Simulator, since 1982 is not just a game, but a complete aviation experience that appeals to gamers, aviation enthusiasts and professional pilots.

I present 5 reasons why Flight Simulator 2024 will always keep my glass half filled:

1. Building on the 2020 version, the new graphics technology has enhanced the environmental scenery realism.

2. The simulator platform has exposed people to new aspects of aviation careers with detailed flight planning and procedures.

3. Enhanced flight modeling physics makes aircraft handling more accurate, capturing a more life-like sensation of flight.

4. Global exploration permits flight to airports and destinations anywhere in the world to further the aviation experience.

5. A wider range of aircraft integrated with the multiplayer experience heightens the knowledge base in the community.

Here are 5 reasons to stop being negative that I adapted from Michael Hunter on why you shouldn’t blame other people for your problems.

5 Reasons to Stop Being Negative:

1. Being negative does not fix anything.

2. Being negative keeps you stuck.

3. It’s exhausting!

4. Being negative gives away your power that should be devoted to move forward

5. If you want to move forward, stop looking backwards with negative issues.

Let’s share and hear more about the positive aspects of your flights with Flight Simulator 2024 in the New Year.

Blue skies!

Thank you for this refreshing and encouraging perspective.  It's much appreciated.

For me as a GA flyer

-Better weather

-Better scenery

-I initially thought 2024 was going to be 2020 with some updated scenery, but there's a lot of improvements to flight dynamics, especially helicopters.

Personally, I've had minimal issues with the addons I use (again, GA only for me).  I also have completely avoided career mode beyond a few missions.  Clearly it is not worth investing time into right now.  I look forward to see what it can be, but it isn't ready now.

The reality is that it is the holidays, and updates won't be pushed until January.  All IT shops close up with lots of people off.  Those that are working are not pushing code out during a holiday freeze (where I work, we stopped pushing code a week ago).  So, enjoy it for that it is now, or wait and go back to something else.

I hear a lot of "but I spent $X dollars on it".  There's nothing wrong with waiting.  Taking a break doesn't mean giving up on the sim.  I think there's this "make it work" kind of mentality.  And for the love of all that is good... stop with career mode for now.  You're just banging your heads against a brick wall.

The only thing you can control is your blood pressure.  Stop watching the angry Youtuber rants and enjoy your free time.  It isn't worth elevating your heart rate over a piece of software.

As I wrote in the other thread, I use both 2020 and 2024. The first for heavy iron, the latter for all the rest. Up until recently I only had MSFS 2020 and I was happy and content with it. It scratched my aviation itch completely.

Now I also have MSFS2024! I have a choice now, right? Right! Since I have educated myself a bit on these very pages what works and what does not work in the 2024, I do not bang my head against a brick wall and go fly not compatible or experimental add-ons. Why should I? MSFS2020 isn't so much worse now, is it? I mean, I was perfectly happy with it only yesterday.

So why should I deliberately make myself unhappy or frustrated when I already know what is and what isn't? And then go and spread negativity around? C'mon, life is too short!

😇

I haven’t flown anything but GA and helicopters since MSFS 2024 came out. Scenery is that much better for me and I do love heavy iron.

Absolutely agree!  We all know the problems with MSFS 2024.  I wish the haters would take all that negative energy, and go to the official forums and post there, including posting in the bugs forum and the wishlist forum. The bugs forum and wishlist forum at the official MSFS forum is where the MSFS developers really read about the feedback.  Something productive will come out of it there. Very few of the MSFS developers come here to read the Avsim forum anyways, aside from Matt Nischan, so continually ranting here won't fix anything.

Repeating the same negative posts here at Avsim becomes counter productive at a certain point. It's okay to post about the problems when there is a new patch or new Sim Update, because that helps people to figure out the problems, and some of us may take that information and post it in the wishlist + bugs forum at the official MSFS forums.

But repeating the same type of negative posts and comments, day after day after day, when there is no new information from it, and something we have read over and over again, just become counter productive.

Posts asking for help in MSFS 2024 to fix a problem are a different matter, the intentions of those posts are to solve a particular problem, and we should encourage people that need a problem to be solved to post about it.

Seems like it's therapeutic for the haters, kinda amusing and fascinating at the same time to watch them rinse and repeat every day. Some of them seem to be absolutely hating the fact that there are lot of those who aren't seeing the same issues, or are not as triggered or negative about MSFS 20204 and/or Asobo as they are.. and livid at those are who are apparently "alpha/beta testing for Asobo" or "sold out to the man and bought early access" bla bla... to those I can only say tough sh** deal with it and then please keep raging because it's fun to watch 🤣

Can you please post some examples of that behavior? Not saying it hasn't happened, but I don't ever remember anyone hating the fact that anyone else is enjoying this game. My attitude has always been "that's great" or "congrats!" as that is really great to hear. It just isn't what I am seeing.

Falling back to wait for me is not negativity. When MSFS2020 came out, I waited for a few months to see how it's getting on. It's the same for MSFS2024, I'm going to wait until March at least when hopefully all the main bugs have been sorted out.

Seems to me, if you find bugs in 2024, of which there are many, and say something about them, you are then labeled a "hater".  Childish it would seem.

It also sort of depletes one's credibility when they complain about the "haters" and follow it up with a  "tough sh** deal with it and then please keep raging because it's fun to watch"  which sort of makes them look like a "hater"

It's certainly more part of the problem than the solution that is for sure...

Seems like it's therapeutic for the lovers, kinda amusing and fascinating at the same time to watch them rinse and repeat every day. Some of them seem to be absolutely loving the fact that there are lot of those who are posting legitimate issues, or are not as happy or positive about MSFS 20204 and/or Asobo as they are.. and happy at those are who are apparently "my sim works flawlessly so there's nothing wrong" or "this is the way every flight sim has been released so we're used to subpar first releases" and then please keep loving because it's fun to watch 🤣
