Looking back at the MSFS 2020 updates : It took almost a year before the major issues had been solved.

And they also released updates every few weeks…

If a nutshell "when critics go silent, groups get stupid".

Criticism by some of MSFS 2024 is not only justified, but should be encouraged (assuming their argument holds merit) to ensure the long term viability of our flight simulation hobby!

Whether someone wants to report positive or negative experiences, these are legitimate expressions of opinion that naturally not everyone shares, so it is to be expected that opposing opinions will be expressed. Completely normal so far. Unfortunately, it often does not stop at expressing opposing opinions, but the other view gets delegitimized and the originator defamed. But that too must unfortunately be classified as normal in these times.

I see the real problem when this behavior is too often not limited to pure opinion threads - of which there are too many redundant ones - but also applies where specific defects, shortcomings or bugs are addressed. Instead of working together with the aim of making the shared hobby better, too many of these possibilities are destroyed by the behavior described. In the spirit of the hobby, it would therefore be desirable if users would reflect on the actual purpose and possible added value of a forum like this. That would be my wish for the new year.

Yeah, and once these self-proclaimed "critics" run out of arguments, they have to fall back on a guy who compares video games to STDs!

We could all just sing kumbaya for the next year or so. Channel all that positive energy to the good folks over at Asobo and MS. That should speed things up.

The problem here is the same suspects seem to have the most issues with 2024. Also, often the post is of the type 'I have X bug, therefore 2024 is rubbish and it's developers don't care and are just money grabbers'.

It is sometimes very difficult to remain partial and understanding with a constant barrage of the toys being thrown out the pram.

The anger comes from knowing that the developers knew this game was broken badly, yet they carefully curated the impression that it was ready for release. You know, like telling us all that the tech alpha was not representative of the final build, when in fact it was. Well, actually the final build was worse. They knew the state it was in, but gave the community the opposite impression. There was a lack of respect, and a loss of trust.

currently enjoying a flight over france, but you continue to find reasons to hate on people who don't share your opinion.

Over the Holidays, I have flown about 12 flawless flights with A Pilots lIfe V2 using the Fenix, the PMDG 737, and the 777  in 2020. There were no problems, CTDs, stutters, freezes, or issues of any kind.  I take off, fly, and land, every time.. Doesn't get any better than that. 😉

Well I was enjoying a flight over France, aside the usual VR issues I eventually got off just fine but then coming into land......the textures stopped loading sporadically. Changing the weather settings brought them back before they vanished again, absolute word not allowedshow.
