Black Square TBM 850 Running in 2024

Sounds are fixed 👍 no need for the 2020 default TBM - make sure to remove that from your 2024 community folder otherwise you don't get any sounds.

What about the default 2024 TBM?

  • I’ve updated five of my TBM 850 repaints to make them compatible with the MSFS 2024 version. I’ve also added painted registration numbers this time. https://flightsim.to/liveries/black-square-tbm

  • I think you need to install the default 2020 TBM.   -B

  • The TBM 850 only uses the tb930 exterior sounds, apart from that it's all from scratch including the model.

Sounds still from the default TBM. I have hoped, we get a new soundpack now.

Anyway, thanks for the free update!

Has anyone tried installing it yet using the 2024 Installer.  Mine can't find the correct path even though my MSFS2024 installation is default, but the installer doesn't give me the option to set the correct path.

Thank you. Disappointing. I'd rather they had waited and released a full standalone version. Maybe at some point they will.

just to be clear: it IS a standalone version.
You don't have to copy sounds from default etc. simply install and ready.
But the sounds do internal point to the default TBM.

I think you meant in in an other way, but I just wanted to make it clear to avoid misunderstandings

Worked fine for me, but there used to be an easy way around that (if it still works).  Just run the installer from a command line, type in the exe name and add <space> BROWSE (all caps) after and that should prompt you.  That should give you a prompt on where to put the files.

It's not standalone if it requires another aircraft to work properly. You may choose to enable or disable that aircraft as I have done, but it is required for this third party add-on to function, unfortunately.

I cannot get a registration number to appear on the aircraft, no matter the setting in the tablet. What am I doing wrong?

Added tablet option to enable exterior registration meshes in MSFS 2024.  There is a hard-coded bug in MSFS 2024 that interferes with the ultra-custom dynamic registration system in Black Square aircraft.  Sim Update 3 failed to resolve this issue, but a potential fix may be in the works for Sim Update 4.

Currently, the dynamic registration may work depending on how the aircraft was loaded.

Not sure what Nick (the developer) means here. The Black Square dynamic registration does not seem to work with a "normal" load on the runway with systems alive. (This was the "how the aircraft was loaded" condition necessary to make the system work in FS2024 SU2. A "restart" does not work with the TBM unlike the Dukes under SU3.) It would be terrific to learn how to make the registration appear in FS2024 SU3.

I can not get dynamic or static registrations to work. I also tried to download one of the 2024 compatible liveries from .to and they do not work at all -- you just get a white aircraft with no livery. Something seems amiss here.

It may just be a copy/paste mistake from another changelog, I can't see an option to add the 650 in the tablet...

Me neither dang

Yep, confirmed it's still just 750/530 or 750/King nav/com.  Disappointing, as I got spoiled by the 750/650 pairing in the Dukes, especially since TDS added crossfill.

Curiously, the manual now also has a section titled "TDS GTNxi 750/650 integration" but inside that section it only references the 750.

Don't TEASE US like that! 🙂

Did you tick the option in the BS EFB? Worked for me!

Yes, ticked and unticked, but it is good to know the aircraft is fine and I am doing something that is causing this. I have to investigate further.

I think it might be a bug. I believe it's supposed to support the 750/650.
