XP12, with AutoOrtho, SimHeaven, xEnviro, is sooo GREAT!

Hmmm, does not work for me with Traffic Global 😕, at least that I could tell...

Does TG take control of XP's TCAS system? If yes, it should work.

Apparently it does not, or maybe its misconfigured...

Will try to investigate during weekend.

Yesterday flying accross Europe I couldn't see any Traffic in my Tollis 32N.

That's is good to know default ATC can see it.

BTW do you get any of those pulses when Live traffic is on?

Define "pulses".

I meant to say pause, sorry

Well,

something must be wrongly configured on my side because just asked my "copilot" and it promptly answered :

"

Yes, when using JustFlight's Traffic Global for X-Plane 12, the default ATC and TCAS systems are aware of the injected traffic. Traffic Global provides high-quality animated AI aircraft models that interact with the simulator's systems, including ATC and TCAS. This means that the AI aircraft will be recognized by the default ATC and TCAS systems, allowing for a more immersive and realistic flight experience.

If you have any other questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask!"

Only when I switch traffic display off an on again. No issues in flight.

Yesterday, however, LT wiped all static aircraft from an airport and I don't know if it's a bug or a feature.

Maybe it's a bug? Was TG even properly updated for XP12?

Ok great, I will try to remember that and try it.

Supposedly yes:

Just Flight - Traffic Global (X-Plane 11/12 Windows)

And just noticed in the docs for Xp11.50 this:

X-Plane 11.50 There is full, official support for up to 63 TCAS aircraft in X-Plane 11.50. No additional setup is required; simply enable Traffic Global’s TCAS option. Do NOT add AI aircraft to X-Plane’s flight configuration or these will be shown as additional flying aircraft in the simulator and will affect the performance of the simulator. If you experience crashes when using X-Plane 11.50 with TCAS enabled, please update all other plugins since many are known to cause crashes when used with the new TCAS system.

So... I will check if I forgot to enable TCAS in the GT plugin menu, and I will report back here if it works 🙂

So... just as a followup regarding Traffic Global, I did enable TCAS in the setting, but I'm not convinced by the results 😕

During a short flight from LPPR to LPPT, where I could see various AI aircraft injected by TG, sometimes there was one "echo" of a given aircraft in the ND, sometimes nothing... and never more than one at a time 😞

Still have to read the manuals more in detail...

My first WOW moment of 2025 has been...

again in X-Plane 12, this morning, while trying a comparison flight with real weather in FS 2024, with FSHUD and FSLTL + realTurb and flying the Fenix 320 from Porto (LPPR) to Lisboa (LPPT).

Weather is nasty today around Porta Land  🙂

I started by studying the model data in detail (RW job bias...) after creating the flightplan in SimBrief.

Then I started MSFS 2024 with FSHUD and FSLTL, the FENIX 320 (only airplane I use in FS 2024), and RealTurb...

FSHUD failed on me when transitioning to Final App, and I had to manually fly the approach.

Overall the clouds were more or less correctly depicted, although with that ugly "popcorn shape"... Winds and turbulence, specially when variable, are still overdone / strangely modeled in MSFS 2024, just as they were in FS 2020...

Traffic injection and the fact that FSHUD and BATC can correctly interact with it, and the realism of the scenery are the strong points running FS 2024, but.... the rest still leaves a lot to be desired compared to XP12 with xEnviro, autoortho+SinHeaven, the Toliss A32N and Traffic Global AI...

Then after landing at LPPT, I asked for another house slot and wife's ACC gave permission, so I took the plunge and went flying the exact same route in Xp12 with the Toliss A32N, xEnviro 1.34, autoOrtho, SimHeaven Europe and Traffic Global, using default ATC.

Although Default ATC still has it's bugs, it actually performed better than FSHUD !

Then the feel of handflying an Airbus in Xp12 is, even in comparison with the best there is presently for FS 2024 (the Fenix) still much more plausible in XP12.

xEnviro has made a WHOLE LOT OF A DIFFERENCE !!! What a REMARKABLE weather injector xEnviro really surprised me to be!

Traffic Global made a very decent work injecting the AI traffic, I just regret not being possible to have it controlled by the default ATC 😞 but we can live with it...

Another bug(?) is that no matter what I have tried, Trafic Global AI injected traffic is not shown in my Toliss TCAS 😞

But, WOW (again to xEnviro) for the rendering of the weather along the route as well as the way it does the winds, so nicely matching the METARs !

I closed my Xp12 flight with the sensation of having, finally, found a stable, rewarding / really enjoyable state of affairs in Xp12, and actually being able to say I easily prefer it over MSFS 2024, other than for the fact that traffic injection is still more detailed in MSFS, as well as the way ATC is aware of it and controls the AI injected aircraft.

Then I picked the Cabri in MSFS 2024, flew it inspired by a video I saw today, and felt that terrible sensation of flying any aircraft in MSFS - the feel of controlling a kite, with a total lack of inertia / weight feel... not to mention other details lacking in terms of rotary wing simulation.... I started Xp12 again and piked Brett Stumpter's free Bell 47G, and... new WOW sensation 😍

No, I am not uninstalling MSFS 🙂

I still like both !

And Condorsoaring too...

But Xp12 is surely my Go-To ---> FLIGHT <--- simulator !!!
