Hearst Castle (MSFS2024 POI) - stunning!

Featured Replies

Beginning to explore low & slow in 2024 free flight. Was curious to see what Hearst Castle looked like in 2024. It's pretty good in 2020 but 2024 takes it to a whole new level. No flight shots in this set - I did a flight from here up to Big Sur and will go back and see about some shots from that later. I've been to both those places a couple of times IRL and done the SF to LA coast trip a few times as well. Amazing place for real, and (once they've sorted out the issues with the sim) it looks like it is going to get pretty close to that level of amazement here too.

All 4k, settings on ultra, Bijan's trees may well be responsible for the big palms here - haven't checked without it and I know his package provides these sort of trees in LA. Time was just before sunrise, clear skies.

Enjoy or ignore, depending how you feel about scenery shots!

I was initially going to go walkies around the place, but it doesn't allow the external avatar on to the model itself. Or maybe I just haven't figured out how to get the guy to move up steps

So I went back to using the drone camera

The level of detail here is amazing. If you've got a big screen take a look at the wood carving on the door here

Amazing, Andy. There is only a small difference to the real thing: the tiles in the outdoor pool are blue 😃

Any attempt to stretch fuel is guaranteed to increase headwinds

My specs: AMD Radeon RX6700XT, AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, 32GB RAM, 34" monitor, screen resolution: 2560x1080

Amazing tour and shots Andy. Even while the only flying thing here is our fantasy!

Cheers, Gerold

cool shots!

All my FSX/P3D repaints are here on Avsim, for my MSFS repaints, go to FS.2

Yes, wholeheartedly agree, Andy...truly Stunning (close-up) images...here. Of course, you have nearly mastered the art of it in MSFS ...🙂...I recall you'd explored and posted about the Castle before, but this set looks outstanding...

BTW, you seem to have got rid of that annoying "Toggle EFB" in your later pictures...How did you do it...maybe digitally...? I normally don't do many close-ups, but when I do, that pop-up in the screen bothers me in MSFS...🙂...

Thanks everybody. I'd always thought this was a prime candidate for some serious attention in the sim, but even so was fairly amazed to find this had benn done as well as this just as an unannounced POI (as far as I know) in 2024. I wonder what other little gems are hiding out there?

Oh, and @P_7878, unfortunately I don't have a way to get rid of that message box. All the pix apart from the first two are just via the standard drone cam (which is more flexible and useful anyway)
