no, that's inherent to the technology.

Hmmmm... mine looks a little duller (possibly even more realistic?!)than the default sim but certainly not black and white. I tried toggling the 3d on and off and see no difference in colors.I also tried turning my digital vibrance up on the card brightness settings and can get just about anything.I wonder how the red/green glasses effect those with red/green colorblindness? Just curious-with the glasses on does this 3d shot look black @ white?http://www.mediafire.com/imgbnc.php/1b5baf...b9f427f694g.jpgMy blog:http://geofageofa.spaces.live.com/http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/187350.jpg

As mentioned in the other thread-I see about 40% frame rate hit. When running scenery like bluesky's where it is the 3d look I am looking for I go from 80-100 to 30-50. In more "normal" areas I can see in the 12-15's.So simply when running in an area where the 3d effect doesn't matter to the flight-I don't run it!I can get AA to run-but at 1920x1200 res and a 24" monitor it seems to run better with it off.http://www.mediafire.com/imgbnc.php/1b5baf...b9f427f694g.jpgMy blog:http://geofageofa.spaces.live.com/

No this shot does not look black & white. As you say the colors are just a little duller. I am in no way color blind. I think what happens is after wearing the glasses for awhile the eyes start to see only two colors (red and blue, or red and green depending on the glasses) and the brain throws out any other color in the image or screen. I believe this is why we see the images with reduced color. Have you ever wore anaglyph glasses for a period of time and then looked at a white wall covering one eye and then the other? You will see a noticeable red or blue tint for awhile from looking through the colored lenses. I also would like to say this is probably the finest example (your screenshot) that I have ever seen with 3D anaglyph. Because only the plane has the 3D effect with the glasses on it appears that the plane is 6 inches in front of my monitor!Edit In your shot above the background has more color than the plane because it is not in 3D. The answer for reduced color is to look at the image "without" the glasses. How many colors can be seen on the plane? Red and blue. The two stereo images.Todd

I'll be glad to post another shot (there are some in the screenshot forum) where the background is more 3d.The plane that is in 3d still appears as blue/white though-not black and white? Yeah-that 6" in front of the monitor is pretty cool! :-)I would think the plane would appear black/white if the 3d was responsible.I haven't simmed for more than 1 hour yet with the 3d so perhaps more time is needed for me to experience the effect-I just haven't seen a black/white yet. Perhaps it is driver related?-It appears the DDD drivers are writen to specifically be used with fsx where as the nvidia are generic possibly?http://www.mediafire.com/imgbnc.php/1b5baf...b9f427f694g.jpgMy blog:http://geofageofa.spaces.live.com/

To all thanks for the interest.Geofa, the shot you posted, through my glasses i see exactly the same reduced color as i see whilst flying.I didnt mean i see entirely black and white, perhaps a 70% color reductionAs you say perhaps this reduction in color is more natural. What with the combination of TileProxy and 3d this is the ultimate, love it thanks DON

>As mentioned in the other thread-I see about 40% frame rate>hit.Logical, as the videocard needs to render each frame twice.

Though you think since it renders the same images it could be a bit smarter... But the performance hit is worse then it is with the old page flipping technology... Surprisingly since you needed to run att higher refresh rates with that technology... So it alternates so is better I guess... Is there some special stereo3d sli mode... Should be able to completely get rid of this performance hit you would think if so ;)

Skullxbones, those 3d images are amazing. Could you let me know which software you use to convert those? Thanks.

>I can get AA to run-but at 1920x1200 res and a 24" monitor it>seems to run better with it off.I have problem having AA work when in 3D mode using the DDD drivers, how did you manage to have AA work?I have a 8800 GT card running FSX at 1280x960 with AA enabled in FSX and 8xs set in nHancer. When running FSX in normal mode (2D) I have a razor sharp picture with no AA problems at all.Part from the AA problem (which isn't that big problem since it only shows clearly in spot view looking at the a/c) this whole 3D thing is the coolest thing I experienced so far together with Track-IR so BIG thanks for bringing this subject up in the first place!!Below is a screenshot is think is very cool, look at the contrails (I belive that is the correct word for it?) from the right wing tip - it's almost like you could reach out and grab it :) !!http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/187403.jpg
