Presumably they will be updating everything to make sure that this does not happen again?

  • For all you Idiotic conspiracy theorist 2020 is back up running as should. You can stop blaming 2024 for your sim not working

  • Yeah, 2020 never had server outages before 2024 😂

Yes, for me. I haven't had a problem with it.

Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting.

My 2020 FPS are in the dumpster this morning. 13-15 fps with the PMHDG 737, never seen anything like that before.

I tried it earlier this morning and all seems to be back to normal again. Moreover, I did notice a shorter "checking for updates" lapse, of approx. half of what it was last friday. All the rest normal using the Microsoft ATR 42-600 over a semi-complex scenery with PG.

A bit off topic, but to render my sim more fluid I started using the Lossless Scaling utility several months ago and got MSFS2020 running at almost constant 60 fps since (depending on the aircraft and scenario complexity of course), without stuttering. This is using the 60 Hz refresh rate of my current PC monitor. This utility was recently updated (on January 10th) to add better Frame Generation (in-utility LSFG from 2.3 to 3.0). Priced at less than $4 on Steam it's a high value utility. Fully recommended.

Let's hope that the MS/Asobo guys will not mess up FS2020 again with the FS2024 virus 😆

Something tells me Msobo are out to get 2020 simmers.

Misspelled and nonsensical.

I'm kind of happy that this happened because they fixed the long load while checking for updates. Now the sim loads with my chosen add-ons in less than 3 minutes. Those one extra minutes add up.

I don't have "Lossless Scaling". Is this something for those that do not have cards to enable FG in MSFS2020 or MSFS2024? I have an RTX4070Ti Super and I do enable FG in-sim. Like you I also have a 60 Hz 41" Samsung  Monitor. I get a smooth 57 FPS (locked thru RTSS), but I also use "MSFS_AutoFPS".

Not sure about that. What likes the most for me is the simplicity to use Lossless Scaling. Not sure also about the use of the MSFS_AutoFPS, never tried it before, and I suspect I don't need it.

Look to what other users are saying about this utility:

Yeah, a few days ago 2020 was out of sorts. Made me pretty angry.

Today I went from DC to Oslo in the 777 and loved it. For the record, I never advance/accelerate/time compression in the sim.

It was 9 hours of bliss. Cold/Dark, no jetway. GSX all loaded. Pilto2ATC clearance. Traffic running. 777 setup manually with airways. Start. Taxi clearance. RAAS not shutting up. Pilot2ATC warning me because traffic. etc. Took off. TCAS freaking out still. Felt bad for the AI MSFS Cessna that was attempting to take off after me. Cruise. Etc. ILS without a bounce. Taxi. Gate. Baboom. Love it.

Then my 4 year old nearly pushed the power button mid cruise.

That was close.

While my plane is flying Im with family, hobbies, etc. Take off/landings are different.

I flew 2 flights this weekend on 2020- FLL to LGA AND LGA to MCO and all went off fine.  I did notice though that on arrival in LGA and MCO the small buildings appeared flatter than usual and were not crisp.  That seemed new and it’s not my system as I’m fortunate to have a 4080 with top of the line Intel processor and 64gb of ram.  I think this thread explains why as it seems like they might be throttling down the ortho a bit to compensate for the server issues.

The sim still looked incredible but not as incredible as it did prior to 2024.

My flights have been great including after adding BATC w/ #5 traffic settings.  But this morning out of KMCO rate is right at 29-30fps and even up at cruise to KMDW it's vacillating around 30fps.  And GPU% is down to 38 whereas normally it would be around 60% or so.   I don't yet know if one closes BATC how long it takes, if ever, for spawned traffic to disappear.  With FSLTL's it's instant but not so with BATC's injector.

My BATC traffic disappears as soon as I close it.

Does traffic appear if you don't start BATC?

Great, good to know.  I just tried this taxiing out of KMCO when traffic behind me started bumping into my tail.  So I turned traffic OFF in BATC, but did not close it, and the two planes behind me stayed there.  But okay, closing the app ends traffic.  No traffic w/o BATC as I have uninstalled FSLTL's injector and also have had MSFS' traffic off since using FSLTL.

Thanks
