What the heck is happening with my MS2020!!!

Back in 2020, when MSFS was released, there pretty much the same public sentiment - it was rushed and it was not ready.  2024 didn't offer closed public beta prior the release. However, even though I was participated for 2020 closed beta, all errors I submitted in  were not fixed upon release. In fact many of them were start addressing only year after or later!

I can't say what is Asobo game plan regarding 2024 at the moment. But if you remember the public beta  for 2020 was not offered in the beginning. There was frustration and pressure campaign from the users that change Asobo decision. Of course like many of you I don't have crystal ball, but we can't rule out that public beta could be offered later on for 2024 as well. Right now I think Asobo/Micforsoft  should really come forward lay out plan for fixing 2024.

  • Yeah, 2020 never had server outages before 2024 😂

As I mention before I bound myself only by Free Flight and predominately with 3rd party aircraft Inbuild A300, JF RJ, Fenix, Cows and etc. Long or short haul is pretty robust no CTD. Occasionally there is bug with Asobo G1000 displaying flight plan if you edit it in mid flight ( Cows DA42 uses it) but other than that zero stability issue.

I'm running i9 13900KF, RTX 4090, 64G RAM

Define stable

I totally understand the complexities and frustrations of getting devices to communicate and play nice together.  It can be extra frustrating waiting on third parties to get with the program.

I'm happy I'm retired now, I can do that type of thing now for fun 🙂

After a break for the holiday season to recharge, refresh, and spend time with our families, we’re back this week and hard at work updating Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024!

As we begin the new year, our teams are focused on delivering the first major updates, including Sim Update 1, while also finalizing preparations for the Marketplace launch in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. We have analyzed all the feedback provided over the past weeks and months and are prioritizing bug fixes and improvements based on community input. Because of this, we are spending this week working on the Feedback Snapshot and will have an updated version for you in next week’s blog. We are also excited to announce that World Update: Brazil is on the horizon! These updates are coming soon, and we will provide more information on the timeline as it becomes available. We appreciate your support as we continue to enhance the simming experience for our community.

On Tuesday, we released a server-side fix for an issue that was preventing certain Career Mode mission types from appearing. These missions should now once again be available. Earlier today, we released a small hotfix patch (1.2.11.0) to resolve an issue that was causing avionics in some aircraft to be non-functional on Xbox and for PC players using Low or Medium graphics settings.

We are currently planning our next Developer Livestream. While we’re still coordinating the schedules of our panel members and guests and don’t have a date locked in yet, we have activated the web form where you can pre-submit a question. Our team will review all the submissions and ensure the most frequently asked questions from the community are addressed by the panel during the broadcast. As always, you can watch the livestream on our official Twitch channel, so be sure to follow it and enable notifications so you’re informed whenever the broadcast starts.

For me: stable enough to fly various GA and airliners around the world, with FSHud/BATC, AIG/FSLTL, Active Sky, AutoFPS + many other addons. No server issues, no blurry ground textures... I do think hardware is important though - and settings. As always - no different than with other sims I've tried in the last 20+ yrs.

Wait a minute - this thread is about 2020 - apologies - so many similar threads!

This is my experience too. In fact thanks to how borked 2024 is I have a new found appreciation for 2020 and have uninstalled 2024 because I plan to continue with 2020 for the time being.

Aka "crickets". Sorry, but so much text to tell absolutely nothing is already an achievement. WHEN is the developer stream, WHEN is the release of SU1 planned? WHAT is the focus of SU1?

The only thing that is NOT just hot air in this "development update" is the fact that the WU will be about Brazil. Which we knew before...

Greetings, Chris

I haven't even bought 2024 yet...but I'm planning to try it through Game Pass. I'm having a peace of mind with 2020, everything is working just fine.
