It can and should be taken seriously.  I am enjoying casual GA flying, but I'm equally enjoying airliner flying too. I have made many flights with the Fenix A320 and Just Flight RJ series.

I am using ActiveSky, RealTurb V2, Map Enhancement Mod, TrackIR, GSX and many other 2020 mods that work fine in 2024.

Ok I am cool with that but I also fly the Maddog X, PMDG and iFly Max that are not currently in MS2024. This is just my opinion as  MS 2024 is more suited for G.A. VFR flying (there is nothing wrong with that) than Airline flying. I would enjoy G.A. flying if there was a good Lancair Legacy in the sim but otherwise nope.

So to clarify the Fenix and RJ are.. not airliners?

Don't know about the RJ but the Fenix is not officially supported for MS2024 correct? Use at own risk.

Been using it since they released the "experimental" version for 2024. Absolutely no issues whatsoever.

Fenix has made compatibility updates for their aircraft for FS24 but it is currently in the experimental phase. JustFlight has produced compatibility updates as-well. However as @MrBitstFlyer has already said they've made many flights with the aforementioned aircraft. Ini has released an update for their A300 to support FS24 and dev versions of the FBW A320 and A380 have experimental support on FS24. Then we've had announcements from Leonnardo that they're working on a compatibility update for FS24.

People have done successful flights with all of these airliners in FS24, so I am just a tad bit confused as to how (according to you) FS24 is more suited to G.A flying when experiences support the idea that FS24 also.. suits airline flying.

For those of you using 2024 with airliners, what advantages are there to msfs 2020?

I can clearly see this as a VFR sim when it works, but as an airliner sim, I have my doubts when there's so much that can go wrong.

Marginally better visuals like clouds, lighting, general atmospheric effects look a bit more realistic (subjective). And a faster loading time. The flight model particular ground effect and landing characteristics also feel somewhat improved but again this is subjective and could just be placebo. Generally the experience isn't that far removed from what I was used to in 2020.

Since release I've done all my airliner flying in 2024 and have just passed 50 hours in the new sim and so far not really had any major issues, besides occasional stuttering at certain airports. But it's improving all the time.

FInally had time to test my new GK RTX 4070 TI super  (  upgrade from RTX 3060ti ) .   MSFS 2024 FPS are better and those 16GB VRAM is doing its work too. No more stutters at EGLL.

So I fired up the Vison Jet  and oh man.  Landing lights still pointing to the ground or some other place,  and than I saw that blurry texture for a 3 seconds on the Garmin MFD I was like fock it. ALT+F4 .

So I fix one problem on my side with low VRAM  and not so great GK. Now looks like I have another issue to fix the Internet speed 😞    Why they can not do it like MSFS 2020 to have planes and airports stored locally.  That blurry texture on that Garmin MFS display was my last straw for me. Relly word not allowed.   I know my internet is not that great as I live in village and have 50Mbit wifi from my ISP.  But oh man I hate this cloud streaming and putting everything to the cloud.  Than ppl with not so great internet speeds can go and fock themselves...   Bcs looks  like we/I will always have blurry textures somewhere,  either airport or from yesterday occurence , even on the airplane cockpit...

I doubt if that blurry textures has anything to do with MSFS2024 being in the cloud. I suppose you are using DLSS or something like that? I don't know much about DLSS and Frame Generation stuff but afaik it can make certain screens look blurred. I only fly the Vision Jet in MSFS2024 and have jet to see a blurred screen.

I personally love the cloud... Installing MSFS204 is done in around 3 minutes on my PC where MSFS2020 took around 3 hours. (I reinstall Windows a few times a year so it's a big plus for me!) Starting the sim takes around the same time as MSFS2020 (around 3 minutes) but getting into the plane from the map screen is a lot quicker (usually around 10 to 15 seconds or so). And going from flying to the main menu is done in seconds where MSFS2020 really took some time. In MSFS2020 I absolutely hated it when I forgot to set something up properly and had to go back to the main menu: in MSFS2024 this is a no brainer and it only takes seconds to go back to the menu and back to the sim again. Loving it.

No placebo imho. I fly the Vision Jet and the difference in ground handling but specially taking off and landing is big! I also find the atmospheric effects a LOT better and more realistic! I am seeing beautiful skies which I never saw in MSFS2020. The skies alone are reason enough for me to not go back to 2020. I wouldn't call it marginal or anything: MSFS2024 is a big improvement over MSFS2020 for me. BTW Also when it comes to performance. I spend 4 years dropping my jaw on the desk when flying MSFS2020 (each and every flight) and now I've spend two months dropping my jaw on the ground each and every flight. I consider myself so lucky to experience these MS Asobo sims... It's (still) a dream come true and it's all even better than I hoped for around 5 years ago! When I think about the sims I was playing in the eighties I can't be anything else but extremely happy with what MS Asobo has done for this hobby!

Well I am thinking it might be that before I installed new GK I totally cleared all the stored textures from MSFS and from NVidia folders. Removed the cache etc.  So it might be that today there will no more blurry textures in Vision Jet cockpit.

But I must say I saw this first time.  And it really word not allowed me off.  I was flying with Vision Jet whole December in MSFS2024 and never saw this blurry texture in the cockpit.

Btw I am using TAA not DLSS . I know DLSS is doing those glass cockpit a bit unreadable. But I am not using that I am using TAA.  And blurry texture I mean like whole Garmin part,  not just the glass texture but even the outside of the Garmin screen  was one blurry texture.  So it was for sure streaming issue of the texture as MSFS2024 is now streaming even the planes and cockpit of the planes.

Not true. There are issues. But none prevent a successful flight.

One example is that random systems might give fault lights during flight if you have started from anything other than a cold and dark preset. One example being Engine 1 Anti-Ice.

Strange. I've never had this, and I normally always fly from the APU Turnaround state (sometimes Engines Running/Ready to Go if I'm lazy).

For my part, I can't be bothered playing msf24 either. The bugs in career mode haven't been fixed, and I haven't seen any news from Asobo that they have reckognized the bugs in this mode.

Strange things,,, before the release many complained that Asobo was making a career mode and gameified the sim. Now after release the complaints are about all the bugs in career mode that nobody wanted… Simmers are really a though crowd that is almost imposible to please. Feel sorry for the people developing for us..
