I'm an advanced FS user, and I see absolutely no advantage of using FS 2024 for airliner ops.

I can't see hyperrealistic grass, broccli trees, and migrating horses from up there and is that what FS 2024 is all about. Then there's the weird white line around the horizon which looks bad and the clouds look no better at FL340 than FS 2020.

Then there's the AI traffic - the choices are: use the default AI which behaves like maniac killer bees swarming the airport from all directions while using the AIG or FSLTL models which are missing wheels. Or use the new advanced FS 24 Ai models which allows me to see all the wrong airlines everywhere. Or the lack of seasons - I love flying into NYC to see it covered in lush fluffy summer trees - it really increases the immersion.

And then there's the performance. I have a high-end system, and viewing complex airports with DUAL 1Gb fiber connections is a stuttering festival of stuttering. And no, I'm not buying 64 GB of RAM for a game. How is X-Box able to run this with 16GB of RAM? I have 32GB of the most expensive RAM I can find, and I'm also not interested in turning down settings to convince myself FS 2024 looks just as good on medium as FS 2020 looks on ultra. It doesn't.

As I said, I understand that FS 2024 is the future, however, MANY things that work in FS 2020 don't work in FS 2024. It's time will surely come, but in the mean time, I'm not interesting in spending the valuable time I have troubleshooting when FS 2020 looks the same from FS 340 with no issues that affect my flying. For now FS 2024 is just a curiosity.

I thought they'd solved that in MSFS2024. I haven't seen that line since uninstalling MSFS2020. It was pretty annoying in MSFS2020 (and never solved). Anyone else still seeing it in MSFS2024?

But in a few weeks/months depending on the development I will make the switch.

And the good news is that you can have the two sims side by side... no "switch" required. 🙂

So yeah yesterday that bug with lights and that great streaming of textures of the cockpit just took over my and I alt+F4.   Should I not be word not allowed ?

You are not wrong... I have also seen an airplane that I selected being streamed in, and slowly taking shape in front of my eyes at startup.  Somewhat disturbing for sure.   That is one of the reasons that I fly aircraft that I have stored on my system.   The new G36, I do not like... The old 2020 G36 I like a lot and I fly it often with the Rob Young flight model.  Others fly the a2a Comanche..

For now, I am staying away from the new aircraft, career mode, and all the other unfinished parts of the sim.

It is like skiing or hiking, you have to carefully decide where you put your feet and where you do not.  As I said above, I do like the experience of flight in 2024, as I do like the experience of skiing, even on a rough run down the mountain.. 😊

So you guys never land or takeoff? You just magicly spawn at FL340 and stay there? Because I would imagine landing/takeoff will let you see the broccoli in all its glory,,, and what about the lightning improvement, you dont see that in the tube? Or what about before you go above the clouds, you dont notice the huge improvement there?

Can you post a picture with the weird white line, just curious, never seen it in 2024…

Not as much as you have. So maybe you can tell me how well the sim is working with airliners?

It is working great for me with the Fenix A320 and Just Flight RJ's.  You'll need 2020 for those not yet supported.

One positive thing about all these circlejerking threads is that its good for farming ‘likes’. :p. And in a way a little bit entertaining, kept me busy for days lol. More drama than the best soap operas out there:D

As I am using Prosim + all kind of hardware I need to focus on one stable config.

Odd... Just last weekend it suddenly occured to me that line was gone in MSFS2024! Perhaps some setting. Di you see it all the time?

Havent seen the horizon line either in 2024…

After 4 years of existence, here are just a few of the many BUGS carried over from MSFS2020 to MSFS2024:

no working Winsheld wippers

still, taxiway lights inside taxiways

no RVR option to be set manual

unfinished FMC MCDU entries for particular airplanes and wrong info on PFD or ND

almost the same loading time at the start

certain memory issues

still server problems

certain situations with lower performance and stuttering

certain airplanes with wrong moments of inertia

issues with saving settings for flight controls and other configurations

It's just plain incompetence and disregard for the customer.
