I don't like photo scenery like that personally. 2D flat and unrealistic.

Suggest everyone check out their support forums before buying - they don't adequately support their products (which have problems with SP2), have promised fixes for ages, not delivered and ignore customer complaints on their forums, sometimes for months. Now it seems they are spending their time putting out new product, likely with the same problems, before patching what they have already sold. Very bad form....

>I don't like photo scenery like that personally. 2D flat and >unrealistic. I don't understand this comment. You can turn on autogen. It works fine and is customized. How does that make it 2d flat?

I really like my Socal version but I won't buy any more of their products. Their customer support is nonexistent. Read their forums, they don't respond to anyone. If you have problems, you better hope hope another customer knows the answer. As far as the comment about photoscenery being flat and unrealistic, you must not have it installed improperly (Understandable with Megascenery's customer support). With Socal installed, I turn off autogen houses and buildings of FSX because of their huge unrealistic looking scale along with popping issues, it always reminds you that you are in a game. I leave the autogen trees on but their giant redwood size detracts from the effect. When I look out my window in the LA area, it hard to tell it's not a video of real flight. And as much as I like my other scenery enhancements like GEX, UTX, FSGenesis, Scenerytech, I'd give them up in a heartbeat if I could get photoscenery of the whole world in high resolution.

Please explain to me what issues you have.@slip-stream's comment: "I don't like photo scenery like that personally. 2D flat and unrealistic." The Hawaii scenery have autogen and is absolutely not flat. Seems that this Reno scenery also have autogen. What do you base your comment on.Ulf B

I had a problem with the SOCAL MegaScenery, went to their support forum, described my problem, and always received replies (but maybe not immediately). IMHO stating customer support is "nonexistent" is way off base and not being fair to a company that has provided outstanding products for the flight sim community for many years. According to several posts on their forum they are making a patch for the San Diego (and other) runways which bleed through the scenery when DX10 is turned on in FSX.cfg. I have seen several similar posts describing the same problem and they do not respond to those assuming (I guess) that the poster will look at other posts in the forum which describe the problem in the Subject and find the answer to their question(s) somewhere in that post. They had a similar problem with runways bleeding through at Honolulu International and they issued a patch and that problem has been fixed for the Oahu MegaScenery. I assume they will eventually fix the problem with the SOCAL MegaScenery. Just because they are not responding to each and every post should not mean they are not providing customer support or it's nonexistent. They are and you just have to read through some of the other posts. I do admit they were NOT responsive for a long period around the Christmas holidays but believe they posted their employees were enjoying the holidays and the "experts" were not available to provide responses. I suppose they should have posted a statement to this effect on their forum before the fact and not after the fact but they are back now and responding to the posts that discuss NEW issues/problems. I had the same problem with KSAN. As I recall sometimes the textures would pop up through the runway and sometimes not. I made a flattening poly for the airport and it seems to have stopped the texture pop through, but I have only landed there a few times so I am not sure it works every time.Another odd thing that I never could get a answer on is that none of the rotating beacons work inside the Megascenery Socal area in my setup. Here's the flatten poly for KSAN if you want to try it. Put it in your Addon Scenery/Scenery. It's not an airport AFCAD so don't remove any custom KSAN airport if you have one.

I went back to KSAN and noticed my flattening poly made the area around the runway/taxiways sink a bit. Here's a better version that doesn't sink.

Being a big fan of photoreal terrain and having lived in Lake Tahoe (during my college years I used to be a blackjack dealer at Harrah's Casino for those who have traveled there), why would they split down the middle of Lake Tahoe??? Now when you approach KTVL you'll have photoreal on one side and default textures on the other? Oh well, wish they had a few night shots at their website or a shot of how KTVL looks.

Intel i9-12900KF, Asus Prime Z690-A MB, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, (3) SK hynix M.2 SSD (2TB ea.), 16TB Seagate HDD, EVGA GeForce 3080 Ti, Corsair iCUE H70i AIO Liquid Cooler, UHD/Blu-ray Player/Burner (still have lots of CDs, DVDs!)  Windows 10, (hold off for now on Win11),  EVGA 1300W PSU
Netgear 1Gbps modem & router, (3) 27" 1440 wrap-around displays
Full array of Saitek and GoFlight hardware for the cockpit

If you fly low, photoscenery of buildings tends to look flat to me. Once you get up a bit, it looks very natural (again, to me). It doesn't seem to matter so much with rural photos.scott s..

Oh well, wish they had a few>night shots at their website or a shot of how KTVL looks. The reason for the split is their data supplier. Aerosoft obtains its data from Air Photo USA. On the Air Photo website, it shows the amount of data available for Reno-Tahoe is 1400 sq miles (same as the MegasceneryX product), hence, they made what they had access to.
