WinWing 737 FMC & PMDG -700 Incompatible

Featured Replies

Has anyone found anything on the product page indicating this limitation to the -800?

There is this text which would indicate the opposite: Streaming Display Mode displays PFP 3N (Panel of Flight Plan) data of any 737 aircraft from any game or professional simulation software running on the Windows platform, syncing in real-time with aircraft module data

Here's the issues i found with two pages on the CDU

1. Winds Forecast

2. Descent Forecast

Thanks for the video.  The forecast items you discovered has been reported by several so it's not just you.  I'm sure they will get that sorted in a future update.  I'm with you though, I find it odd only the pax version of the -800 works.  Seems like a huge oversight to me.

Yes, but only after I ordered one from the global store - I only have the PMDG 737-700

https://winwingsim.com/view/goods-details.html?id=965#catalogue-4

Go to this page and scroll down to the box headed "Record-breaking, dual-mode display drive" then click to view details. A pop up will appear that lists the currently compatible aircraft and I can confirm that at the moment the only PMDG plane is the 737-800.

Irony is I've been getting stressed as my pfp was stuck in Shanghai for a week. I've received it today in the UK and although I can plug it in and have updated the firmware I have no way of actually using it at the moment!!!! (I'm not forking out for the 737-800 and it does appear that owners of that plane are having issues with the pfp). It's larger than I expected but looks pretty neat. I have no issue with the buttons, which do click!

One nice surprise was not getting stung for taxes and import duty - not sure if I got lucky or Winwing took care of that at point of sale but I was expecting to have to hand money over to Fedex. Now I just have to be patient...

I have to believe that at some point common sense will prevail and they’ll support the other models.  The FMC is essentially (maybe actually?) the same for the various ones (hardware wise at least).

I can’t imagine them going through the effort to code for one aircraft and then not support others that should be the same for hardware interaction.  That’s like running a marathon and quitting 10 feet from the finish line.

It would probably good if we all contact support on this to make our concerns known.

With any luck they'll come through whatever Winwing may do. May involve purchasing the full version of FSUIPC but we'll just have to wait and see.

Meanwhile Winwing appear to be guilty of misleading advertising but I don't think there's much point going down that rabbit hole.

Doesn't bode well.  I was looking at the 777, and it says "PMDG 777-900" "Upcoming" ETA TBD.  900?  Makes me worry it won't support the freighter.  For the MCDU for Fenix it only says A320 so will have to wait and see what really happens.  Glad I held on to my $$ so far.

Somebody postet here at the Forum the MCDU does work for allmost all A3xx, do all Fenix, iniA330, FBW A320 and maybe the A300-600 but i just dont know if that is the true.

But maybe after some time they Winwing does updates for there Hardware and Software - hopefully 🤔

And same for the 737 and 777 Panels..

cheers 😉

Weird, doesn't seem to support anything but -800 pax for me, the BCF or other freighter doesn't register.

Also has issues with the winds page and descent forecast page as loading winds never shows the execute lighted button

Yeah, that's a bug. I was just searching to see if others had this issue. There are a couple other areas that don't lite up the execute button and give the appearance of a lockup. I found a temp fix. Press the execute on the FMC in the sim. The screen then sync's/refreshes. I've been trying to report this to Winwing, though there chat system / website does not seem to work well. I can't get a chat box.

They have now a New Year celebrations, so should be back after the weekend time.

So i was doing some digging with chatGPT and i came across a file in SimAppPro called deviceCommon.js.  Inside that file i see the following

i saved the file and tried the 700,900 but it didn't work. Im going to keep digging today to see if i can find what file simapppro pulls its data from.

I wouldnt have bought this if I knew it only worked with just the -800.  I have the MCDU also.

Their product page does state, word for word, “any 737 aircraft from any game or professional simulation software running on the Windows platform”.
