in the image notice how the united in the top left shows registration ground speed and altitude. and the all the other planes show no info. i know nav map is grabbing the info because clicking on them brings it up in the side window.

i have always had the feature work with default settings in the past. now it seems it only works sporadically with one or two aircraft at a time and no amount of adjusting map labels. reinstalling. setting default settings, can fix it. also seems i needed to turn the "details map labels" to highest in order to get it to show just that one plane that it grabs in the way I'm describing which also makes the airports themselves have huge labels. and like i said ive always had this feature work fine previously without this issue.

 

windows 11 msfs 2020 and only notable add on that ive changed is beyondatc's new traffic injector needed fsltl installed for models.

LNM shows more detailed information for aircraft close to the user aircraft. A user requested this feature a long time ago. This also considers the flying level relative to the user aircraft. This is one aspect which might look confusing.

Then there is the label densitiy which you can be set in LNM menu "Map". This also affects the AI labels.

following the directions as you said under "map" in the LNM menu is indeed how i configured the one airplane that was showing labels to show me the entire altitude and speed instead of just an abbreviated registration number. 

 

it just seems to me that (especially if you say the feature to show more info based on distance has been around a long time.) that i have definitely screwed something up.

 

because just a few months ago i saw the name of planes. their speed and altitude all the time. any plane that showed at all also showed some level of the labels underneath.  

Sorry, I'm at a loss here.🤷‍♂️
I have looked at the code and tried to reproduce the problem, but to no avail. The labels show up as intended here.
